Great video and i learned a lot. Please could you let us know what paper you are using? ....Many thanks!
@yhzhongwatercolor Жыл бұрын
Thank you, Mike! I used cold press 140lb Arches watercolor paper.
@mikeorrey9025 Жыл бұрын
@@yhzhongwatercolor Thank you for your prompt reply. This is interesting as you seem to managed to remove pigment quite easily and my experience with Achers cold press is it is difficult to do this.
@yhzhongwatercolor Жыл бұрын
@@mikeorrey9025 the ability to remove pigment depends on both the paper and the pigment that you use. Some pigments are more staining than other which make them more difficult to remove.

Thank you for doing a long form video! I really enjoyed hearing your explanation and thought process as you mix paints and make marks. I’m new to painting and watercolor and have been using a very reduced pallet just to get used to how the water moves and how much water to use. It was fascinating watching you layer in all those subtle variations of color. I look forward to more videos!

Thank you! This was awesome. In the polishing stage are you using a wet brush and a cloth in dry paint to lift color?
@yhzhongwatercolor Жыл бұрын
You are welcome, Laurie. Yes, I was using a wet brush and a dry paper towel to lift color.

Did you glaze at 33:00 to tone down the exposed paper? I always wonder how you deal with the white space.
@yhzhongwatercolor Жыл бұрын
Yes, I did a light blue glaze on the sky and also on the lightest part of the painting. Good observation! Yong
