Watercolor Painting - WET ON WET vs WET ON DRY Technique- Morning Glory- Tutorial Step by Step.

Hello, friends! In this video tutorial, I will share how to paint morning glory and simplifying the background leaves. I will use the wet-on-wet style. It might be a bit challenging, but don't worry! I'll guide you through the process step by step.
When I paint watercolors, I generally follow the following order. I usually apply water to the paper first and then add washes of diluted color. Then, while adding darker colors, blend naturally with a brush. To depict the naturalness of the entire picture, I often use the splatter technique.

Great show of the two techniques, I myself really struggle with wet on wet, I think it's because I try to manipulate how the paint travels and struggle to see the journey ahead, where wet on dry results hit quicker. I really need to let go and let the paint do some of the work for me. One day I'll give in and hopefully I'll start to enjoy wet on wet alot more😊

I love them both. I like the wet on wet in how the colors blend, but then I like the wet on dry because you have more control, you do not have to rush, the detail you can accomplish. But I guess you could let the wet on wet to dry to add some finer detail. I believe just because it is a wet on wet that it means you have to paint the finishing touches on a wet background. Some oil painters wait for the oil to tack up before adding highlights and detail. I loved the colors you chose forvthe flower. I would have never thought of that. Lovely, as always. I will definitely try both ways to paint. Thank you and I will go and check the others out.

Beautiful video! Do you have a preference between painting wet on wet or wet on dry? I think mine is wet on dry, because of more control. But I also love the softness of the wet on wet look.

Joy S i understand. There was a time i felt videos were too fast but this artist does put her colors on the screen! If you slow down the rate and turn down the volume the written directions will stay on the screen longer. I teach small classes where I live and I often show videos from you tube just to demonstrate how this is done. Just keep practicing and experimenting and your work will improve. Mistakes are often the best part of the pictures you paint!

Good you paint beautifully, not so good for me the music and lack of instructions you do not give while painting. Many waiting for instructions of what you are doing :).
