Just came across this post, love it, and you say, ‘enjoy the process’ Thank you, makes me relax more about making my cards, I can just enjoy! And now know how to add splatter with the watercolor pencils, going to do a lot more of that for sure!

I have a large set of watercolor pencils and wasn't sure I was going to dive into these until I saw Tim's demo. I love that you can use them to color rubber stamps, not something my other pencils will do. They are also wood so I can't splatter (unless I color on the mat and wet it) or take the color from the pencil to the brush. I also like that if I fussy cut or die cut a watercolored stamped image and there are areas inside the image where the background should be showing, I can now match that area of my background. I ordered all three. Why choose or find out I wanted a specific color in one of the other sets?

Yes! Having them to match inks and other distress products are amazing! I hope you enjoy them! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi there! Since covid, it seems a lot of mixed media ladies have dropped off the map. You're one of the few that's still around, or maybe You Tube is not showing me what all's available. Hopefully things will pick up again as I really miss all those wonderful tutorials you ladies used to do. So question for you: I bought the Prima Dragonfly Blue Color Bloom 2, spray bottle , after you recommended it in a video some time ago....love it! I can't remember what other few colors you recommended, so I'm asking you to try to remember, if you can, what other few colors you suggested along with the dragonfly blue color. BTW, has covid really disrupted the supply chain for mixed media products? Having a difficult time finding more of the dragonfly blue, and the colors of the rest of the color bloom 2 series seem pretty limited. Thanks, and THANK YOU for sticking it out through all the covid craziness, you're a real trooper!! Thanks, Fiona

This was so interesting as well as helpful, I recently purchased a set of Derwent Inktense pencils, they the distress pencils came out, what to do. So far m pretty pleased with the Derwent. Who knows, Santa may bring me some of Tim’s. Thank for sharing.
@sherylosullivan96192 жыл бұрын
I also have Inktense pencils. I think they will still have a place over the Distress pencils as they are finer so I imagine better for colouring in. As you say, can’t really use them for direct to stamp

I like the idea of distress watercolor pencils. Trust Tim Holtz to produce these. I wonder if he has any videos on how to use them. I sometimes use gelatos on stamps. This would be nice to test too. PS I like the way you did the splatters. I need the water pen though. It makes really nice little splatters, which I like.

Wow, you already have them? Awesome sauce.. I ordered set one for now.. I used to be afraid of water coloring because I thought I would mess up, but once I started water coloring with all mediums and I mean using water color paints, inks, Lunar pastes, Halloween sprays by TH and Shimmer sprays by Spellbinders too.. You did amazing on that flower..

Tiffany, great video. I have Tim Holz distress oxide inks, also alcohol inks and other products. What I would like to know can you sharpen these distress pencils to a sharp point just like a regular color pencil and then color in a coloring book, small areas too, and then of course dilute it. But I'm thinking we lose a lot of the pigment then?
@Tiffany.Solorio2 жыл бұрын
I believe Tim shows the sharpener he uses in his live. I believe it got pretty sharp. You can always save the shavings and make watercolors with them. They are woodless so you just get color. Which is nice. I hope this helps... even a little.
@judithf92972 жыл бұрын
@@Tiffany.Solorio Yes,thank you. I wasn’t able to watch the entire live stream that Tim did, so I guess I missed that part
@sharonwadwell24252 жыл бұрын
I reckon You could put the shavings in a watercolour palette and use them as watercolour paint

what is fecking or flexing that you mentioned in the beginning

It is the little flecks of the color that come off the pencil. Maybe there is another name for it... but that is what I call it LOL!! I hope that helps.
