bruh i just realized that those cliche 'watercolor tutorial for beginners' are helpful but this is much more important! I always thought i'm not doing it right, turns out that my watercolor paper is just different from theirs.

@@esmaeliffa7974 Well for instance instead of typing the text she could have talked. Just like other youtubers who post art and art supply videos. They talk. They give tips. You can give way more information by talking then when you put up text on the screen. Plus it would have been more personal.

I prefer the HOT PRESS results because it appears as though it takes on a more natural shading and gives the object depth. Thank you for your time and very good demonstration...it helps a beginner as I am,, not to wonder and waste money purchasing items I wouldn't use or prefer when beginning this hobby.

Thank you for an informative video. I am just starting out in water colour after 15 years of making art dolls/sculptures. It was so lovely to watch and not have constant distracting music and I didn't need any spoken word as the saying "a picture paints a thousand words' who needs a commentary. I regularly mute videos. I now feel confident to purchase some paper with the style I want to persue.

Sketch and drawing paper held up better than I expected them to 0: But yeah, even the cheapest of watercolor paper is still probably going to be better than trying to watercolor on anything else. May I ask, which type of paper would be best to work on when you’re wanting to make prints of the finished illustration or put it on a shirt 🤔? I also heard that a more textured watercolor paper is best for detailed illustrations?

Thank you very much for this video! Seing all the differences is really interesting. I go for cold press for now, but bought some hot and rough samples to try it myself. I think that hot press picture in your video looks a bit less "watercolory", so to say. A bit like other media. Not sure is it the picture itself or the smooth paper that makes it looks so. Anyway, I suggest it is a matter of taste )
