I absolutely love the way you paint! I'm an acyrlic painter...self taught. Now, I'm trying to teach myself watercolor. It's so hard for me! Sometimes, I feel like throwing them all away, but then I would be digging through my trash. Anyway, you have inspired me, especially with the sticks. I use Daniel Smith tubes right now, just trying to learn how to play with the colors. I'm always a work in progress! Just love your painting and how you're so intuitive with color. Just beautiful work. Thank you for sharing your talent!

I want to thank you for sharing all that you have learned. I do think there is value in planning, but the intuitive painting is where the joy and freedom is. I will plan to a certain degree, but then with music and as I get into the painting the intuitive painting takes over. The painting process becomes my meditation. I am so fascinated by the ink process you demonstrated. I really must play and try now!

Hi Karen! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on intuitive painting! I hope you enjoy the paper marbling, there is a treasure trove of methods, techniques and supplies across KZbin - and much learning on the history of it if you like deep dives, my method has over simplified it but made it easily accessible for watercolor, happy marbling!

As we are traveling in New Zealand (on my husband’s bucket list…who has a very rare & serious heart disease), I brought only my watercolor sticks for painting…& I love them thus far). Your use is helping me know the variety of ways to use them. Thank you.😊

Fantastic and fun tutorial today! I love the first painting the most, I think…each has a unique style, and so each is valuable as learning tools. Today’s painting was definitely the most fun! Thank you so much for providing these videos even though they take a lot of work from you…but you are like a wc lifeline for me…to keep me connected to the wc world and keep me learning by continuing to paint. Thank you so much.☺️

At a glance, I am drawn to the first painting. I love it's freshness. Your exploration on the last is amazing! I have not seen the sticks used in that way, which is a really valuable technique!

Thanks for sharing! Lots of ideas to save a painting that is off-track or dull. I have 2 paintings currently using the ground to correct or add texture. I also paint on canvas which gives a different look & techniques must be adjusted to suit.

Thank you for sharing, I have some canvas and have been wanting to use the ground to paint with watercolor on them - and/or watered acrylics, or maybe both, always exploring - happy painting 🩷

I think intuitive painting depends on whether it yet looks right…either from experience with the subject matter or just previous painting experience…or just your ability to just “go for it” !🤪

I’ve only used this ground for background before painting…and think of the possibilities of colored wc ground used to “finish or refine” the painting! Exciting!😊

Hi, is it just plain water in your tray, or do you have an alumn added and what ink are you using. Thank you for sharing.
@watercolorpour2 күн бұрын
Plain water and Higgins Ink (Super White and Black Magic) this method allows me a surface that will still accept the watercolor and allows the incredibly light print. 🤍
