Oh, I love the Mayan Blue Dark. I have that. But you have that and the Mayan Blue Genuine backwards. That's not the Blue Genuine you swatched that's the Mayan Blue Dark. You put the Mayan Blue dark in the bottom left cup by itself. It's the darkest swatch that resembles Payne's Gray Bluish. I have the Mayan Blue Genuine also and not a fan of it.

So glad I found your channel & especially this video as I am contemplating getting a dark black & was leaning toward lamp black, but now I’m thinking Jane’s black.

Signing paintings - how did you get that stamp you use to sign your paintings? Maybe you can talk about that in a future video.

You are just so kind in sharing all your painting insights with us. I am always happy when I see the notification that a new video of yours is available for viewing. And as I watch, it feels like I’m kicking back with a nice cup of hot chocolate and a good book in the winter. Your comments about being in nature always speak to me…nature, my favorite place to be. I’d like to share a recent painting experience. I had about two minutes to get ready to go to Arizona, to The Mayo Clinic (my husband has been diagnosed with a rare heart disease). As I had no time to pack all my painting gear I grabbed a set (of 6) hand poured paints. I also grabbed two brushes (#10 & # 6 rounds) and an Arches 8”x10” block. After going through lots of tests, we had to wait a day before seeing the heart specialist at the clinic, so we decided to enjoy the day going to Sedona. We had not been there before. We discovered that it is a stunningly beautiful area of Arizona. We got some sandwiches to go and drove around and found an amazing place to have a picnic. Then…I just had to paint some of the beautiful sites. My hubby and our dog went for a walk…I painted. Because I had a “limited palette” of paints I hadn’t even swatched, I struggled with making the needed colors, but I also had the best time making those colors! My painting was amazing and I was so proud that I had figured out all the color mixing. I usually think I need all my paints, etc. I’m so glad that I was forced to take so few painting supplies. Sorry this was so long. Again, thank you for caring about your subscribers.😊

What a wonderful story and I SO want to make a trip to paint in Sedona, limited palettes offer time color mixing which can be a true joy to discover new color mixes. I hope your husband is getting the care he needs, the Mayo Clinic has helped many. Prayers for your family!

What a beautiful palette! Congratulations! I don’t have a Little Brass Box Roberson but I own a Craig Young box that is very similar. It’s a great feeling to own something that, if taken care of, will outlast me and never rust. Mine is holding up well. Although, I do find myself “babying” it. 😂

It is a special feeling to open and use it. Coming from humble beginnings to have such a paintbox is very appreciated 💛 so happy you have one too, I will have to look up the Craig Young ones to see

I definitely prefer the desertscape! It's beautiful! So dramatic! It reminds to me of some William Turner landscapes, which I do deeply love! My compliments for saving a paint like this, it tooks a lot of courage, I wouldn't have tried to do that. ❤

Thank you! Will have to try this more often, when it seems the paper is off I usually just throw it away, but in this case it shows that with worn/old/aged or scuffed up paper we can just add more pigment and play
@vehrkalia15 күн бұрын
@@watercolorpour if the paper is good it's possible indeed. Different is eith cheaper paper or with a delicate one, like the hot pressed, which I noticed it's more delicate than the cold pressed, at least in my experience. I often had problems like bubbles underneath the paper when I started the first wet. It's a tragedy when the paper ends up with such bubbles and other imperfections when you have already started to paint. It makes me feel so frustrated! I lost a loto of works for this problem and I still haven't understood what causes this issue.

I love them! I have just discovered their existence and completely fall in love with this watercolour sticks, I absolutely need them! Thanks for this demo, I am always searching for tips for painting rocks since I find them quite difficult to paint. I always try to makecthis rough effect on paper and tried everything, I only miss this sticks. I hope to finally find my way to rocks painting with this! ❤ Thank you! 😊

Wonderful, using these colors really helps the rocks to paint themselves too
