@@georgiapeplow457 Not backhanded at all.. just being honest and impressed to see someone that paints likes me. If you look at the majority of watercolor artist youtubers that cater to beginners - they are already so advanced there is no way a beginner can reproduce like them. It is refreshing to see someone on KZbin that is different and can inspire a beginner.

Lou Davis..why can't this be done only with watercolour? I mean why sketch first with pen ...then wash...is it for permanence? Is it for bold borders? Or is it because it's difficult in watercolours?

It's fine, you can use your Artistic License when, where and however you wish. I love it!!! I never considered doing a building, because I thought there would need to be a lot of measuring to be exact. But if people want perfection they should take a common boring photo. Drawn free hand makes it a warm, human made piece of art.

Very nice tutorial. Thing only thing that bugs me is that you drew the wrong front door. If you look at the reference photo, the entrance doors are on the right side of the townhouses. You drew the door on the left side, which is fine for this exercise, but as a draftsman I'm sorry I couldn't let it go...
