Nice demo, Edo. Helpful to be reminded that simplicity is what watercolors were made for, and Wesson, like Seago, was a master of simplicity.

I appreciate your commentary, not only with respect to technical detail, also with respect to style and feeling; expressing an approach to painting. As I am new to watercolour I welcome the perspective of the looseness of the approach that you demonstrate in this painting. Lacking knowledge of this medium, I see I have been timid and somewhat tight in my approach thus far. Thank you very much. The depth of knowledge you share share I find offers much insight and depth; quite welcome as I take on learning to do watercolour at the ripe age of 70.

We dont need to paint trees naturally, If we make shapes that looks like a tree it is enough for a watercolour to be successfully!

Thank you for sharing the love of Edward Wesson. I too, admire his work and I like your painting style.

Thank you Annie! Wessons style is much bolder I think. But its like when I do my own painting I just go with the flow. when you do a certain style you have to think about how it must be performed.

I love your videos and painting style. I am now so enjoying your demo along with comments about other watercolorists' techniques. I watch and re-watch your videos like I re-read a good book.

Brilliant, you make it look so easy. It is so relaxing watching you paint and makes you want to pick up your brush and have a go. Thank you.

Thanks Marg, so nice to hear this. Nothing better then inspire other artists to pick up the brush and paint! Relax and enjoy the process. just watch how pigment and water behave! when you do this it will come good almost by itself!

love your style of painting. I've been trying to learn how to loosen up my painting and your videos are really helpful. Also appreciate showing how you mix your colors. thanks to much.
@EdoHannema-Watercolour-Art5 жыл бұрын
Loosen up is not really loose painting. It is knowing what you can create in a minimum amount of brushstrokes. A big brush or a time limit is also handy to create loose paintings! Thanks Linda!

Very encouraging! It is weird to hear your own voice, for me it is very monotonous and it is also hard to speak a foreign language while you paint. But I did once speak dutch and narrating in english, and that is even harder to do in a way!

love the style but it cames too hard for me espicially the brush strokes for tree with raw sienna. i suppose that it can be much easier with this mob brush? thanks
