Quick overview of why you should not use PETG tubing.
While there are only so many acrylic tubing suppliers out there and only the ID and OD size should matter. I've used stricly Bitspower and Barrow acrylic. They fit a wide variety of fittings well for me from several brands. I mainly use 16mm tubing.

If you guys are worried about your PETG tubing melting because your pump fails, just get a pump that has an RPM sensor (the one that plugs in to a standard fan header in your motherboard), then plug it into the "cpu fan" header, and go into your bios and enable "CPU Fan Failure warning" or whatever it's called in your brand. That makes it so that if your CPU fan reachers 0 RPM, your system shuts off automatically, preventing any damage.

This is very great advice. Thank you for this insight, going to do this right now!! I bought a used kit someone was selling for (very) cheap and it had premochill hard fittings two rads and a pump. I saved a bunch of money but he only issue was the fitting size is a certian size that premochill only offers in PETG. So I cannot get acrlyic, plus I do like using PETG as I am a beginner. I would have never thought of this and this can potentially save me from huge damage to my PC and its free! When the pump is running and the PC is at max load im at 33c, so I have no worry of warping as long as the pump runs. Thanks again!!

PETG is rated for 80C glass transition Temp. If its deforming lower then that or close then you have a bad brand that is not creating the tube to normal PETG standards.

I've never used PETG but I've used acrylic and chrome copper tubing. However, I'm thinking about going to pre-bent glass. Have you tried glass??

hey, I want to build a lightsaber and found this colorize PETG tubes. Do you recommend they to build this project? I'm use LEDs to light up the saber and will do some lightsaber fights with them. They are resistant?

i personally wouldn't using recommend anything that might shatter under pressure. there are a lot of transparant tubes out there that can handle some pressure (its not a good idea to put any tube under pressure regardless of if they can handle it or not), maybe give polycarbonate or eva tubing a try, i believe you can get polycarbonate rods as well, so you dont have to fill it up with whatever light you might us. transparant pvc exists too but i wouldn't recommend those, they're really expensive where i live(germany

Hi, I'm wondering if you could help me with a water cooling related question. The EK DDC 3.1 on my O11d G1 distro plate is failing. I would like to replace this pump with the more powerful Swiftech MCP35X-BK (practically a DDC 3.25). My question is, could I run into any problems fitting a different model to the back of my distro plate? Granted, you probably haven't used my distro plate with the exact ddc pump I'm getting, but I assume you will have experience replacing pumps. Do all ddc pumps work well where another ddc pump will?
@JCustom
@JCustom 3 жыл бұрын
I have that plate as well. Any ddc will be fine. Pretty much every pump ddc or d5 is made by the same manufacturer xylem/Laing with minor spec changes by the rebrander sometimes.

I made my first loop out of petg. After a few weeks of more research I switched everything to acrylic. I don't use high static pressure fans for my rads so I was worried that temps might get a bit high. Also, learned the hard way that you need a saw to cut acrylic.
@gamertechlive1780

Ye saw is required I tried cutting it with a pipe cutter again and again with same result cracked tube .. and when I tried saw it's easier just need to use sand paper works like a charm lol

@@gamertechlive1780 You can use a pipe cutter for acrylic, but you need to do it so slow it's not worth the hassle. Saw is quicker and more reliable.

Does anyone know where I can buy silicone inserts? I have 11/14mm Bitspower PETG and every piece of the 11mm Bitspower silicone insert is too small! I get little divots in the tube because that tiny amount of space between the insert and the tubing.

I build myself a custom loop about a year ago and used petg since people told me its easyer to bend and cant break as easily... 3 weeks later my pump stopped working and the system leaked around my cpu since the hot water bend the petg pipe. I had to replace my mainboard but luckly my graphicscard survived. I didnt know that petg has such a low melting point until now. Thanks, i was about to use petg for my next loop again :D

I use a pipe cutter with acrylic - makes it really easy. Combined with a few seconds of fine grit sandpaper just to remove sharp edges, it's still quick work. While it's also true that it takes a bit longer for acrylic to start bending during heating, I find it's a lot easier to know *when* to bend (when you get to the point you have to work to keep it straight) and it's also harder to ruin with bubbles in the bend as long as you keep a proper distance. That's my experience, at least.
@JCustom
@JCustom 3 жыл бұрын
Yea it is easier to get right due to the longer heating period needed

@Talwyn_Wize 3 жыл бұрын
@@zt8044 Of course you can. I did my whole build with one (20-ish cuts). Keep in mind to go slow and do perhaps 1/3 a turn at the time, and it'll be painless. I cant speak for every variant, but I used a tiny cheap one. 🙂

huh interesting, ive been building custom liquid cooling and no deforming or whatsoever, fluids specifically made for cooling have a higher heat capacity compared to a regular distilled water which heats up faster

Always used soft tubing Regardless of what anybody says soft tubing is a lot less likely to give you problems and is a lot more forgiving The only reason to go with any kind of hardline tubing is the looks and that is the only benefit it has

Well, F me. i chose PETG since it's my first time with a custom loop. Ran to Microcenter and picked up a Red Devil 6800 and a few other odds and ends. They recommended Mystic Fog. Guess I'm not using that. Any suggestions on what coolant I should use?
@NFNotForgotten
@NFNotForgotten 3 жыл бұрын
What you said is clearly not true. Petg tends to melt if the liquid temp goes above 40c which most loops will with a high end gpu and cpu cooled. Ive been running mystic fog with my petg tubing for over a year and no issues whatsoever. What really matters is getting inserts to make sure the tubes wont deform inside the fitting. Note this will happen with Thin walled tubing IE 10/12mm.

Yea, you don't even mention the downfalls of the acrylic tubing. It shatters like glass and if you get even little bubbles in the tube, it's so fragile. Dislike incoming.
@JCustom
@JCustom 3 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t shatter that easy, you really would have to hammer it, and if you get little bubbles that means your applying too much heat too quickly.
