WD also works well on the trailer and the jet pump. Use it religiously on my ex and after a year it looks like new. My brother washes his down after every ride also but doesn't film/fog anything and you can see a difference after 12 months

Lanolin sprays are far superior and have been my go to on all Boats and Skis for 15 years. Lanolin is a semi permanent coating that disperses water and resists salt/acids. WD40 is just a dispersent that will eventually flash off.

Hey Kev, Tim here from Australia. I’ve seen some brands like wd40, inox etc state that use of their base product may be detrimental to hoses and therefore the silicone varieties are best for soaking the entire engine bay. What do you think? Cheers

I went in to my local dealer yesterday and they have only one used spark trixx on the floor. It is dead in the place. They don’t have any sport bikes either. I wonder how does the sales people still have a job when there are no inventory? I did talk to a guy that said they got in 7 seadoos 2 weeks ago and 5 already had owners for them because they had put $500 down payment on them and the other 2 weren’t on the floor long before they were bought. I guess the sales people are getting down payments from customers to save them a jet ski is how they still have a job. I wasn’t comfortable in there with the sales people. They didn’t seem to want to help so talked to wife and we are willing to get one out of state if we need to once we have our money saved up. The buying experience is important too.

Question…. If you mist the inside of the engine bay and spray things off do you just leave seat off and let it air dry?? Or do u leave the plugs at the back out and tilt machine as well?? Just wondering how best to dry it out before the spray down…. thanks
@watercraftjournal3 жыл бұрын
Obviously, you want the water out as quickly as possible. Seat off, plugs out, tilt up is the optimal setup.

The one thing you don’t want to use is spray white lithium grease. I’ve seen it way to much in the marine industry. All it does it attract dirt and grime. With that, that goes along with any of the lubes that get sticky. Save some of those sticky kinds for the pumps if anything. Still no white lithium spray though. Just throw that stuff in the garbage or spray it on your annoying neighbors door handles. Don’t do that neither, that will get you 5 to 15, lol.

LOL! It's the right stuff for certain occasions.

Is this lubricating process more for people who ride in the ocean combat the salt water? I live in Canada and only ride on lakes. I have a 2005 rxp that I only spray at the end of the season and the engine compartment still looks like brand new. I just picked up the 2021 Sea-Doo rxpx this year so I would like to know if I should be doing it regularly when I only ride freshwater.
@watercraftjournal2 жыл бұрын
Metal corrodes and plastic deteriorates everywhere. Salt only accelerates the process. Always protect your engine.

Hey Kevin, I’ve heard you shouldn’t use WD40 on rubber since it’s petroleum based. Have you ever seen any negative effects on the rubber parts from WD40? Thanks!

WD-40 is FISH OIL based. Literal fish oil. That is why the original formula is not toxic for humans to consume.
