@@gloria1970 He was voted the best bass player in the world in 1982. He was and still is that good. Left Simple Minds when they were about to go global. They missed him I reckon more than he missed them. He has sung with David Bowie, on the Iggy Pop album Soldier. He played bass on Cited the Kirsty MacColl hit "A New England". Forbes has also performed on stage with Peter Gabriel. Cited from Wikipedia.

@@gloria1970 To me it was sad that he left Big Country. He would have been a creative force that could have lifted the band out of heritage status.
