Re crows pulling corn: I've observed in my place that since I grow winter rye Grain, plant into the standing rye, the critters can't find the corn seed until it's well enough established I can roll the rye flat into a mulch. I use antique equipment like you, so I drag a cultivator to strip till the rows then follow with a shoe-style planter, then later after the corn is up I run a smooth lawn roller down and back to flatten all the rye. Early spring oats works too. Choose a small area and try it out even now. You won't get a harvest but you'll get to experiment and see if the crows leave the corn alone.

It’s a 85-110 day maturity date. I believe I stand a good chance. I would like to see your operation.

Plant corn deeper than beak length. A bit extra deep and crows have tougher time. Go extra deep..... Spray a little stinky stuff on top to keep them off it. Those blastards will walk right down the row picking every seed otherwise.

I am in south central NC. Just got a backyard patch. My corn survived that dry spell we had and then got the copious rains we been having. It's almost waste high. No fertilizers. Cover crop and weeds growing along with it. I am ahead of the commercial corn growers. It was planted last week of April. Its a mix of several different grain corns. Kentucky rainbow dent from southern seed exposure seed catalogue makes up the majority of it. 3rd year of saving seed.

Me too I’m excited about trying it out. Even if I don’t get a harvest but I think I can stand a chance. 85-100 day maturity. I feel like it will be mid November though if I do. What do you think.

@Jtwes it needs to be knee high by the 4th of July. I think the corn will do fine. The problem with late corn, real late is we lose daylight towards the end of the corn growth . I have still not planted my sweet corn. I had a wedding in my back yard. The Bride who was my Neice wanted me to leave the cover crop so it looked pretty for the wedding that was May 5th. Since then it has rained tremendously. As long as it is knee high by the 4th of July we are good. Thanks for sharing buddy.

It’s over full for sure. I believe it’s because of plowing it and turning the weed seed deep.

Hello Joey. I did not realize I had not commented on the video. As you know I have been out of state and sorta busy. I did watch it back a few days ago and sympathize with the crow issue. I’m not sure I still have the patience to “take care of” the crow situation. It would be fun however. I do hope this product works as desired. Thanks for sharing.
