One of the clearest examples that jazz is American "classical" music. The tempo drags in the middle, Jools doesn't have what it take to sing the lyrics, and the whole band is bombastic. Even Barry Manilow's version swings harder than this! Here is the original Count Basie version, followed by vocal version, by Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross. You will note, there is no comparison. Jools and his band simply can't keep up. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIGskqFplqhmh6M m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJmTd3pmlJyAbKc

Jools began to anger when he realized that the clarinet was woefully out of tune. Yet technically proficient ?
