is it better to use the peroxide as a gargle or added to the waterpik tank? I have sensitive teeth due to gum recession. I recently found your channel and found it very useful. Thank you Dr. Nemeth!

Never knew about bleach and intermittently have been using hydrogen peroxide but the wrong way for many years. I heard about studies regarding brushing without toothpaste from an excellent former now-retired dentist. Great to hear you also mention it in 2023. Very informative; thank you so much!.

Hi Doc, So I had an implant placed 4 years ago. Recently I would find gum abscess near my implant site. It would pop and go away. I went to my peri Doc and have the gum laser. A few months later the abscess came back and drained again by itself. I went to get Lapip procedure done to help with this. However a few weeks after that the abscess came back again which was smaller but in drained again by itself. I am on antibiotics right now until my Doc can see me again…what do you think I should do?

The blurb that you showed on screen about not using toothpaste…. It states that the results were seen when the patients first brushed their teeth without any toothpaste(and then with toothpaste afterwards) My friends mom always recommended that since I was a kid. Use a brush without toothpaste to get rid of the grime then rinse the brush and your mouth, then use toothpaste and do a thorough brushing.

Oh! Is that what it is then! I was confused by that line between the brackets. I was thinking to myself: They brushed without toothpaste for weeks and then after that duration they brushed with toothpaste and then the results were less plaque! I couldn't make sense of it! Especially that Dr. Joe suggested not using toothpaste, and I was reading the paragraph on screen as evidence supporting or stating the benefits of not using toothpaste, so I couldn't make sense of it or wasn't sure how to understand it! Yep!

Is baking soda ok to brush with.Twice that has a yellow tube feels good. I feel brushing is not enough. Is bone graft necessary after tooth extraction?

If you rinse using water & hydrogen peroxide mixture, would you do that as the last step, after flossing and brushing?

How often per day should we use a water pic? Is 2-3 times too much? Also when we find sensitive gum areas when using the water pic what can we do to treat those?

Then how would you remineralize your teeth from all the acid and sugars we eat each day if you do not use a toothpaste that remineralizes your teeth? Secondly do you recommend using a natural toothpaste like nanohydroxyapatite or toothpaste with xylitol.

Don’t eat sugar. Raw cheese 🧀 best for teeth 🦷
@Sovnarkom Жыл бұрын
If you need to remineralize ... gently apply it (minimize friction this is mainly about coating after your brushing is over) then leave it on for 2 hours before rinsing or eating. You can repeat this treatment at whatever schedule you find appropriate but it's separate from brushing.

Dr. Nemeth, you had said during the 2nd half of the video you don't recommend putting any chemicals in the mouth. But in the beginning of the video, you had advised putting a small amount of bleach in the water. of our waterpiks. Are you sure that's still okay to do?
@jeremychalson5264 Жыл бұрын
Hi Dr Nemeth. Thanks for the insight! My periodontist wants me to use only a few drops of bleach in the waterpik. So a smaller dilution than you recommend but daily. Is it safe to waterpik with bleach daily using just a few drops?

I might be a nut for posting this but honestly a drop of bleach should be enough, a tsp seems like more than overkill, food safe levels of bleach should be enough. I know like an industrial sink full of water will kill salmonella and you use probably less than a tsp. A tsp into a waterpik seems insane to me... I might try this with a ph balanced food safe level of bleach, again maybe I am crazy.

Dr. Nemeth, thank you for giving us useful information. One point I am wondering, is there any worry that brushing teeth without toothpaste, in other words, not taking fluoride into mouth, may increase the risk of tooth decay?
@TheOfficialArthurMorgan6 ай бұрын
Fluoride is toxic and has virtually no benefits. Also sodium Fluoride specifically is artificial and a by product of the fertilizer industry. Obviously nothing healthy about an artificial toxic by product.

No toothpaste, no mouthwash? that's insane....what do you do about bad breath? Garlic, cheese, onions....imagine eating food with flavor and not using toothpaste and mouthwash! For those that don't use toothpaste and mouthwash.... how many ppl had the courage to tell you that your breath smells like death?
@thankyou--- Жыл бұрын
Assalamu Alaikum. I have not tried this method, but I'm here to share something about the smell of onions. I once made a green salad with onions, and it crossed my mind to add fresh peppermint we had in the fridge. When I ate it, I noticed that when I chewed the mint it neutralized the burning sensation of the onion and its smell. I had already learned about the use of peppermint for bad breath, but when I ate that salad it striked me! It was the first time I noticed it and experienced the effect like that. I learned from a pharmacist and a clinical dietician; the same man, may Allah bless him and protect him, that chewing things with chlorophyl, like parsley or peppermint helps effectively eliminate bad breath and freshen your breath. Would you like to give it a try? I hope you find it a useful tip. (Oh! I sometimes sucked on pieces of clove for fresh breath, too. And I learned that from a lady in the mosque, God bless her).

I would suggest reading both your toothpaste and mouth wash labels. If there is a warning, there are many natural alternative. Just a suggestion.
