This is a really helpful collection of various situations that may pop up. Thank you so much for putting it together, and for all the content you post! Question: for the example in Tip 2 around 4:03 mark, when adding blocking/framing to the tub edge going down to the floor, how would you address it if the water lines were sitting closer to the front of the framing (not really centered in the studs, but closer to the face of studs), not leaving much space to place typical blocking btwn the tub edge & the copper lines? Also wonder what you do with wavy kind of stud framing? Generally? If sistering another 2x4 is hard for lack of space? Hope that makes sense! Thank you in advance for any advice you can give!

Hey man love all your videos! I have a question this might sound stupid, I plan on putting some sealant and banding along the bottom of my tub deck where it meets the floor (cement board) now. I noticed you folded it up along the tub I like that idea, but won’t that be visible after tile? And if so how do you remedy that?

As always great video. When you are combining variety of different brands of systems to work as one do you usually just use the same type of thinset that you have already made up to set the membranes, in this example it was schluter band for the seam, I know schluter wants you to use unmodified thinset on top of their waterproofing while other brands like goboard requires modified or does that matter? Although I believe schluter will probably change to modified eventually because of schluter all-set already in existence.

I typically use what I have which is typically Ardex products. They warrant their adhesion for Schluter. I do think the all set does have a superior bond to their membranes. So a lot of times I have that too. Biggest thing about the thinset though is making sure it’s wet enough. Not the same consistency for setting tile 👍

Absolutely! I don’t think most people want to wait around, just buy what’s on the shelf and go. Go board has become one of my favorites 👍 fast, easy, affordable
