really nice, i like the ambient music, it nicely fits some of those "psychedelic" shots :P and the quality is really great. Love the 16mm format.

Hi from Scotland. This is really good quality. Am considering moving to 16mm soon as it is a big hike up from super8 in quality and currently only a few pounds more expensive. The shot with the number 9 on the side of the train is super high quality while still obviously having the special look that film has.

I definitely prefer the experience of shooting Super16, though I do love shooting Super8 as well. I feel as though I can mix film sensitivities a little more and it can hold up a little more to higher degrees of color grading due to the size of the grain

This is so beautiful. What f-stop do you usually use on the kinoptik to get such sharp images? Mine is pretty soft at f/5.6 and below. Will be using your services soon hopefully!
@negativespacefilmlab2 жыл бұрын
I usually don’t go below f/5.6, but a fair amount of the Kinoptik footage here was shot around 5.6

@@negativespacefilmlab Okay good to know. Have you had yours collimated? Mine looks pretty soft compared to the footage I'm seeing here. I wonder if I'd need to send it to anyone (would appreciate recommendations if you have any!)

@@NordikCreative I haven't. I bought the lens on the cheap and haven't really had the time and energy to get it looked at. I'm personally probably going to just hold out for an Optex 5.5mm at this point

Great footage. How are you doing Timelapse with the Bolex ?
@negativespacefilmlab2 жыл бұрын
In this footage I was using a manual shutter release because the Bolex I was shooting with doesn't have the 1:1 drive shaft. I have a Rex-5 that's been newly overhauled and converted to Super16 that I will be using a timelapse motor with once it comes back from the technician
@RyanNavazio2 жыл бұрын
@@negativespacefilmlab got ya, what’s the shutter angle end up being on a single frame release?
@negativespacefilmlab2 жыл бұрын
@@RyanNavazio The exposure time is around 1/30th of a second for single frame exposures (non-timed exposures of course)

@@negativespacefilmlab I had an inkling! Do you find that it’s sharper or softer than Ektachrome 100?
@negativespacefilmlab2 жыл бұрын
@@andrewcollar4923 50D is definitely sharper. I haven't been as happy with the new Ektachrome compared to the previous version
