They had a better chance by dropping back. If they had stayed, they would have been less than 14 feet away from a ball traveling up to 40 mph with no strike zone i.e. they did not know where the ball would be hit at them. Would have needed to react (guess is a better word) to this. It would have been nothing more than a guess. By dropping back they had a chance to react. It's common for that reason.

It's because the men want to hit rockets at the women. They don't trust their partners, and they're not that much better.

In mixed doubles in pickleball, the guy will take over a lot of the court. It’s not because he doesn’t trust his female partner, but it’s a strategy. And if the guy doesn’t cover enough, their team will most likely be in trouble. Thanks for watching!

Maybe they should implement the table tennis type rule where players have to alternate the shots. No player can play successive shots. Makes things more interesting and exciting.

And the 'Brats" Anna leigh and Catherine Parenteau having the mangers dump their former team partners leading up to a tournament, this is when anna's mom got injured and Catherine's partner got sick, Anna "the brat" her manager made the first call and they been a team the rest of the season. look up the story.

I do not understand why female players, especially at the level of today’s pros, let the male partner essentially play singles against the other team and only allowing the female partner hit when there is no way for the male to hit to the ball. No, for example, Ben has the dominant position...his forehand vs he backhand . He can get to the ball quicker, more power and a .ire offensive angles. That's why they stack is to keep his forehand in the center.

What you cannot see is a lot of seating and bleachers to the right side of the court cut off the screen. It was absolutely filled earlier in the day with standing room only. This match was also played very late around 9pm.
