I am 67. I still ski on a wood, Maharajah slalom ski. Been through several of them. But...I bought a new one, that is displayed in my home, for the future. Still have them all. Mr. Bob Maher, is getting on in years, but still builds them. They are not only great skiis...but they are undeniably...Art!!! If you have seen one, you know. Been skiing since 1959, when, I was 4. I can say that the skiing, and boating life has been the highlight. Great memories, great people, great times.

I have been slalom skiing since I was 12 years old, and i am 50 now. I was pretty good when i was in my 20s, then life caught up and i skied very infrequently. Recently i met a work friend who has a good boat, and we go out regularly, and it is like i never stopped. It is the best thing in the world to hear a slalom rip open a glass lake. what a beautiful sport.

The producer Vincent Stadlbaur I presume is the son of Clint Stadlbaur, who started water skiing with me, while Peter Stadlbaur, Clint's father, taught me how to ski when I was nine years old. I stopped skiing in 1978 this is the best promotional piece i have seen for the sport. THANK YOU

Competed in Illinois for years as a kid. Saw Freddy Kruger go off the ramp at age 10. I still ski 3-4 mornings a week on our course on a public lake. Some days are actually pretty good, others....a fishing boat goes by and the course has rollers for 10 minutes. Don't compete anymore because its an all day affair, but my buddies have tow boats too and we get into 35 off and still love it as much as we did when we were in our 20's. The best way to wake up ever!!

I'm just an open water hack past my prime, but there is nothing I love better than feeling my ski hiss through glass. We are SO fortunate that TWBC exists that we can watch the worlds' best compete in the sport we love. I look forward to the day that waterskiing regains it's rightful place as one of the most popular sports.

When I was in junior high and up I learned how to bunny-hop from the bank. Early morn at break of dawn the lake is Like glass. Dad would give that bass boat all it had and i would lay that connely hook ll over and slice across the wake so fast!!! Man I loved that ski!!

Watching this literally got me back on the water at age 60 after 28 years since my last run through the course. The WORLD needs to see this! Make pro water skiing BIG again!!

If you are a waterskier you will know, this is a very accurate video. We do it for the love of the sport and as an "old school" skier, it brings us back to our youth every time we hit the water. Most everyday people do not understand but they respect the sport completely. Those that are lucky enough to have spent time with the sport, and completely understand it, are grateful! If you are not a competitor, it is still a rewarding sport that you can do as you age, but don't push your limits! Keep the fun in Waterskiing !! This is a great documentary!

I was a 3 event tournament skier back in the 1980's in central Texas, was very fortunate to pair up with a total junkie who needed to be out there on the water 4 days a week training and I was 'all in' for it too! Went twice to Jay Bennett's Ski School in Zachary LA, another one up near Waco TX, we had so much fun out there on the water enjoying and competing in a sport that has so much to offer. In my 60s now and I can still throw a few good turns on the slalom! Great documentary and I really enjoyed seeing what the sport is up to these days. Wow!

This made me cry. From skiing since I was 3 years old, watching hot Tuesday nights in the 90s, competing in Nationals and Senior Worlds, this video touched on everything physical and emotional in water skiing. Fantastic piece that everyone at TWBC put a lot of work into. We appreciate it and you!

I just don't know why the major networks won't cover waterskiing anymore. For crying out loud I watched as much as I could stomach of foot volleyball (5 minutes) on ESPN. What the hell. The whole time remembering way back when the sports networks cover a water skiing event. Sad times. They broadcast Cornhole, foot volleyball & frisbee golf.

Not sure how this struck a question as to why I have been skiing for 35 years. But toward the end of the film the comments about acceleration and 20-60-20 make sense. Really enjoyed all of it. Well done to the TWBC crew

Have skied for most of my life. Slalom is my forte, but I have always enjoyed watching all of aspects of the sport. Watching wade cox Andy maple, the duvalls, Lapoints, Kristi Overton johnson and all the other greats of the past, yes I'm showing my age. This sport is an addicting, adrenaline rush like no other. Thank you for this documentary. Keep up the good work. Hope to see more tournaments aired.

I skied in the Texas State Championships back in the 1980s and was in Men I for all 3 events. At the jump portion, spotter/marker in the boat says, "What speed?" I said 32. I could see the guys in the boat chuckle and ask themselves, 'This guy is in Men i and wants 32mph?' How cute. For the uninitiated, speed in Men i was usually 36mph. Add to that I was only making a single cut, from the left side nearest the ramp. These guys just about lost it wondering what I was doing. Until I hit the ramp. First jump was a crash but their tune changed quickly as I was out there much further than they had thought possible given lower speed and basically a half cut. They really wanted to pull me at 36 and begged me to up the speed but I said no. Last jump was 92', not very far but considerable given my terms. I never progressed to higher speeds or double cuts so I have no idea what that would have been like, but it would have been awesome!

Growing up with friends that water skiid our main question to each other was ,but can you slalom? After several tries the answer would be yes, it was the greatest feeling. People that have never water skiid have no idea of how much strength it takes just to cross a wake or simply just ski. Thank you for being physically fit enough to put on a show.

If you are a skier who has run the course, whether you are a hack (like me), a short line skier, or a pro, you know how hard this sport is. If you have not tried to run a course, then it is difficult to fully understand hard it is to just run it for your first time. Thx for the video. Well done. Hopefully, this video may inspire more folks to try this amazing sport.

Really accurate, brutally honest, in depth and just so so really well done. As one of those that is parth of that "group of people in waterskiing its the only thing you care about" this was fabulous (Freddie has some great quotes...). Will this make it a mainstream sport? Probably not, but it will help... and TWBC has done more for the sport with REALLY high quality livestreams and productions like this. Thanks TWBC. Everyone at TWBC. I was a skier in the old folks division (I don't remember what it was called) back in the days of Ricky McCormick, John Mondor, and Wayne Grimdich and was in the Miami Water Ski club when we put on the 1976 Worlds. After watching this awesome video I'm amazed at how much things have changed. What a great sport.

Not unknown but forgotten. In the 80s-90s I would rip glass all over Lake Mead, on my 86 Connelly Team 2 Kevlar. Carving 30' high spray walls that would shatter like glass and rain back down. But riding that competition slalom ski at 41 MPH on a 80' split handle line. But I started in the 70s riding a Maja Giant Slalom at 60-70 MPH in racing competitions at 10 years old. LVBSC 50-75 Miler marathon races. Or in the 90s trolling for jetskiers not paying attention and entering my wake zone. Made one bail off his jetski because I went headhunting. He was even madder when the rangers pulled him down and gave him the ticket, for entering my wake zone.

Outstanding!!! This brought back so many memories! I recreationally slalom skied my whole life and did amateur slalom club tournaments for a short time. The thrill of running the course is addicting! The people are amazing!

What a great doc. I lived outside of Houston on one the many bays and remember all my friends rolling out of bed to see if we had glass that morning...if we did, we'd all call each other and within 10 minutes we had our skis, life jackets and boats ready to go...very fond memories of growing up...

Great job on the documentary. I have been skiing for over 50 yrs and still do at 68 and love to watch TWBC. So why is water skiing not a big time sport? It is not because it 's not exciting or the athletes are not amazing. I think the answer is, people like to watch sports they can also participate in. Get a few guys to meet at the park to shoot hoops and in your mind you become Michael Jorden. Same with Football, Baseball and many other sports. But how do I pretend to be Nate Smith? First I need a lake, then a Ski boat, someone that knows how to drive the boat, a Slalom course, & the list goes on. Water skiing is out of reach for 99% of people. If people can not easily participate, ( or think they could ) the sport just does not draw the spectators. Without the spectators you will not get the big money from sponsors. It is a shame because the Pros in water sports train just as hard and are just as dedicated as any Pro Athlete. I will keep watching and hope to make a few turns at 90🤣

Rocky Marciano would sleep in the dressing room before fights. He was the best boxer of all time. There are some who don’t require nervous feelings to preform. Others I think of are Alex honnel and uli steck. Both climbers.
