The science is to spray seal with a larger border, after it dries trim the edge so the water can get in there. Also Try using the backing - once removed - and apply it to the decal while it is on the cup to protect the decal while pressing out the air and water. Corrine, Do you have to seal the image with something after it dries? It seems like if the mug was hand washed later the image would come off.

Yes since this mug was already coated with epoxy it has to be sealed with epoxy but you can bake these if applied directly to the cup

Cut your picture out larger than you want then seal it then trim it so you won't have the problem of the sealer on the edges

This is not done for a cup that will be washed. If you want it permanent you bake it or you seal it with epoxy

Use warm water on the water slide, it slides off so much quicker. Put it in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes to seal.

Hi Corrine, I am having problems with waterslide decals with text. using the clear waterslide paper without a background will cut the letters individually but the letters are left on the map. using white background on clear waterslide paper will keep letters together but will include the white space and lines. I love the kitten, where can I get one.....Thank you so much.

You have to flatten the designs to a shape to use your machine to cut. It’s always going to have some space around the design. The cat is just an image from google

This one has a slightly rough side which is the side to print on. You’ll want to check the directions of your water slide paper they are not all the same

Usually curved is a little harder but it can be done. It doesn't work great on plastic because there is no way to seal it to the cup and they are flexible

It will dull it. The clear is best on white or super light colors. They make a white waterslide as well

Hi, I use water slide decals for nails. I generally use white decal paper so that the image stands out against the background. But if there a way I can keep the depth of the colour but with a clear background, as when I print onto clear, unless I put the decal onto a white base I loose the depth of the colour. Is there a way to keep the colour like have a white background just on the image and the rest clear? If that makes sense. Id like to add some of my decals to a black base, without the colours getting lost and me having to paint around the edges. Hope this makes sense 🤣 x

For this cup you will need to seal it as there is epoxy under it already. For something not epoxied you can use clear sealer sprays or back some waterslides. I prefer to epoxy

You never put epoxy in an oven its toxic. Something like this is not meant to be used for drinking just display. Its like glue once its dried it stays on no problem. Mine has been handled tons. It hold my pens and its perfect.

Printable sticker paper for sure. waterslide is delicate and I usually only use it if its under epoxy or UV Resin
