About The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies:
Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson returns to Middle-earth with the final of three films based on J.R.R. Tolkien's enduring masterpiece. Set in Middle-earth 60 years before the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy, the adventure follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of dwarves on a journey into wild, treacherous lands swarming with beasts of every ilk. After reaching Erebor and encountering the dragon Smaug, Five Armies assemble for an epic battle that could decide the future of all in Middle-earth.

RIP Ian Holm ❤️ Gandalf: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it. Pippin: What? Gandalf? See what? Gandalf: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise. Pippin: Well, that isn't so bad. Gandalf: No. No, it isn't.

It's been three years since I last posted on this video and again I have to say thank you to Billy Boyd and Howard Shore for this song. This June has been devastating. My mom's health deteriorated rapidly after a bought of pneumonia. She passed unto the Undying Lands to join my father today. This song gives me solace again. Safe journey to all who read this and my you find peace.

To all the true Tolkien fans. 'Death is not the end, it is simply the start of the next great adventure'. The true gift that Tolkien left for us was not his movies or books, (although they were great) his true gift to us all was knowledge, the knowledge that nothing ever really ends. Throughout all his books and movies there is one thing that was focused on and that was that there is always another journey to take, life and death are just two doors that lead to different journeys. Tolkien taught us so many things, and with his knowledge we can pass it on to our children and they can pass it onto theirs, to me personally Tolkien was a light in a dark time for me, the fact that nothing really ends, the fact that we each have different journeys to take. Tolkien will always remain in our hearts, so he will never truly be forgotten. Remember: 'Death is not the end, it is simply the start of the next great adventure'.

My mom and my grandparents both watched the beginning of The Lord Of The Rings that I have bought in 2005 ,but Grandparents died of old age 2007 and mom watch it the last 6 Movies of the HOBBITs . I been reading The HOBBIT books for years in my reading classes in Jr high school in 1978 before there were any movies and cartoons were made . I later on during the High schools years there were 3 Different types of The HOBBITs Animation cartoons . The first Animation cartoons was Ron Bass cartoon was great to the Movies of Jackson's HOBBITs but didn't have all the whole story books in the Cartoons until Jackson Made all 6 Movies of the Whole Book about The Hobbit . Star Wars made some movies almost all of the books . But Jackson is still the only One that has including Extra movie on DVDS of over 2 extra Hours of the Movies not being shown at the theater . I bought out original copys and including the rest of Extra movie , behind the Hollywood Scene . My mom said she love it because she had more understanding about Why and how books came to life better . But both my mom and my grandparents fell asleep during the last hour of the movie . My mom had died from Kidney infection and Alzheimer's in 2019 spring.

When the Lord of the Rings came out, my dad and I went to go see it in theaters, rarely had I ever seen him so excited to see a movie. He used to read the books from the Hobbit to the Lord of the Rings trilogy to my sister and I as bedtime stories. I would go to sleep with dreams of heroism, adventure and a company of heroes and misfits that embarked on a near impossible task. When we would watch the Lord of the Rings movies on DVD, we would always start with the first, after it was over...my dad would say, "Well, onto the next one!" and I would put the next DVD in as quick as lightning. We would make a day of it as we passed a pipe and ale back and forth, like two hobbits enjoying their day. Though when the Hobbit came out, he was already gone, he passed away from cancer before he could see them. As I listen to this song, I feel a hole in my heart where his presence once was. But then I think back to Gandalf, that his journey never truly ended. Death is just one other path in life, one we all must take. He passed through the gray-rain curtain and all went to silver glass. He reach the white shores, and beyond. The green rolling hills and paradise beyond. I miss you old man.

At the end of the third Hobbit I cried. Not because of fallen heroes, but that it was the end of the journey which began in 2001. Do you think there will be enough interest and passion in Hollywood to start doing Silmarilion movies? Practically it´s a neverending source of stories.

Much as I love the Silmarilion it's not right for films. The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings are stories, the Silmarilion is a full mythcycle. It would be like trying to make a film series out of all the Greek myths at once, or the Bible or (appropriately enough) the Ring Cycle.
@zvolencan1
@zvolencan1 10 жыл бұрын
GriffinPilgrim Well, you know, they said Lord of the Rings is impossible to put into a movie format, and here we are... So I guess nothing is impossible, but the only fear I have that Hollywood would only try to make money, and that would be put before everything else, thus all the passion and magic would be gone, and we would have just another full-of-bombastic-effects mess. The only way of doing Silmarilion would be to let the passionate director (whoever he would be) do anything he needs to, with limitless budget, without interventions, with all the time he needs. But that´s too much requirements I guess. :)

I admit, it’s a different kind of bond with The Hobbit than with Lord Of The Rings. But I love both trilogies nevertheless. But the characters in LOTR I will always have more love for.
