I’m the 2nd person in the US to have the repair of the scapholunate ligament, based on what my doctor stated. Over 20 years later, it’s still healing, but feels a whole lot better compared to what it was the first 5-10 years after repair.

did you get it treated, as in a surgery? I suspect I have this, Its been a year since i got my wrists injured from handstands, but I still cant do pushups/dips on writs properly.
@Syst3m04 Жыл бұрын
Basically a scaphoid fracture is a small bone in your wrist that breaks when you fall and put your hand out (can break other ways, but this most common). Many people will go to get an X-ray which is negative because it can take up to 6 weeks to be able to present on X-ray. Treatment is a short arm cast (the ones that go from you hand to forearm) for 10-12 weeks, and Tylenol or Advil for pain. If it’s bad enough surgery may be needed. Hope that helps, new NP and found this video while studying.

@@Syst3m04 what are symptoms of bone fracture? Is it only painful when you use your hand or even at rest. I'm worried about what I'm feeling rn about my hand. I went to a clinic, but my doctor refuse to give me an xray test. I just want to be sure about it, and til now my hand hurts
@Syst3m04 Жыл бұрын
@@MusicKZbin-s5u so it usually happens as a result of a fall. Pain below the thumb by the wrist. It is more painful when being used, but can be mildly painful at rest. Most common treatment is just a splint that holds your thumb still. If you are really worried you could try an urgent care, x-rays are usually pretty easy to get from someone.

How to fix this without surgery?
@rhodakozak1205 Жыл бұрын
Just found out that the immense pain in my wrist is from a full-thickness TFCC tear as well as a full-thickness scapholunate ligament tear. I've been in so much for such a long time and was wondering why. Just seeing this test performed makes me extremely nervous about seeing my ortho next week.

I know about the surgery as well, but i would like to avoid it. Because nothing in this life is for sure. They can mess up your hand even more... So i am looking at different options and i see there are like a gazillion experts on carpal tunnel syndrom and like zero for carpal insability. I know it can get better without a surgery for a fact, because one manual therapist helped my condition by a lot.

That it works to some extend like it did on me, but it will not fully heal with therapy alone. So i don't know, maybe i was wrong or he just sucks...

If you think you have a fracture - see a doctor and get an X-ray. The popping can have several reasons and it's impossible for us to tell what it could be without seeing you in person.
