Those can be different colors than just red too, like silkie chickens for example have very dark skin, a lot of them look almost blue or purple others just have fully black skin, so their combs and wattles can be the same blue color as their skin or even a dark purple called mulberry, the black skinned ones have black combs and wattles! There are so many different chicken breeds and hybrids! Some are very rare and endangered. If you're interested, I'd suggest checking out the website for greenfire farms and looking up any of the chickens they sell, they sell ancient breeds, endangered breeds, and just rare breeds too!

Much of the world has cicadas of some kind. In the U.S., they go as far north as Wisconsin and New York, and at least as far west as Oklahoma, depending on the brood year. Australia and Siberia even have cicadas. :) Yeah, we definitely would NOT want them actual volume in the game. That would be awful.

The dev teams essentially just split into smaller more organized groups to churn out smaller ideas to flesh out. They can put a bunch of smaller similar ideas together or just a bunch of random stuff with less of a theme. While bigger updates or drops are being slowly built up and polished without as much stress about the fans reactions and time frames. And it's been hinted we may be getting a bigger drop after this one too. With their being a possibility of a bigger reveal during Minecraft live

better idea: Cactus now has 1 new block type 1- Connector cactus: If a cactus is at least 2 blocks tall, it has a chance of growing this new part at the top or in the middle if its 3 blocks tall. Basically what it does is allow the cactus to grow more cactus/flowers sideways. It will look very similar to the normal cactus, but it will have less spikes than the normal one and maybe a slightly different texture Another idea: Make cactus grow 4 blocks tall in some desert biomes, to add some nice variation

The goats in Minecraft are based off mountain goats, not domestic goats, so I doubt we'll get variants for them. But I'd love to see horned sheep as variants next

Bold idea: when crafting a cake, the frosting will be different if you use a different egg. I mean, there's no actual sweetberries used in the recipe, but that's presumably what is on a crafted cake. Maybe if you use other eggs, the cakes appear different?

I'm 99% certain the new cold biome crested chicken variant is a lavendar (British) araucana, a breed renowned for laying blue (and green, and even pink) eggs. They're also known for being pretty cold-hardy. Not to be confused with the very similar and closely related Ameraucana. The breed standards also vary substantially by country, AND there's several plumage varieties, so not all araucanas even look like this. The crest, lavendar colour, and visible tail are a very British standard for the breed (and possibly elsewhere, I just know that in the US these traits are rarer, where they are preferred to be rumpless, crestless, and with large ear muffs). The warm biome chicken variant I'm pretty sure is based off of a Rhode Island Red hybrid (e.g. warren, golden comet, ISA brown, or similar) which are widely known as prolific layers of large brown eggs. ALSO EDIT: the "hangy part under its neck" is the WATTLES! Most chickens also have a red comb on top of their head, which for some reason the minecraft chickens just don't have lol
