Hey things you missed: gnembon also said that when the idea for the drop turns big it can be revamped into an update (like the yearly updates we had before), he also said that the tricky trials update didn't have to be a yearly update and that they had to stretch it a lot for it to fit the yearly update (for example add new mobs), he also said that big update the size of nether update could drop anytime without any announcement, also I don't remember him saying that drops have to be in the same theme as the big updates, I think that's all :D

6:05 its literally the perfect time for this, they are making ambience drop, what if they make that in deserts, sometimes there would be sandstorms, and THEN the sand "carpet" would appear, that would not just make it easier to get those in old worlds, but will be also really easy to just copy the snowstorm code and change it to generate sand. Well now they can be working on it for several years in secret without stopping releasing content and fixing the game. Those at Mojang said a long time ago that while they were doing the Aquatic Update, in parallel they were doing the village and Pillage, the Nether Update, Minecraft Dungeons, Earth and Legends. ​@@EmperorPenguin1217not really. Drops aren't small updates. They are unrelated and unthemed content made at random by smaller parts of the team. They probably have more control over ideas in them too. They are kind just devs doing their thing while they work on bigger and more Themed updates. This is also why they contain a lot of technical changes. It's to make larger updates faster. It really just depends on how much the devs working on the drop can get done before they are told to release it. They can make small meat updates just to have something new in between. Or work on them in the background as a kinda passion project until they are larger than even some updates. It's just how much time and want they have for the idea. They can do whatever they want instead of having to theme them. Letting them add more variety of stuff too. I mean they've kind struggled with themed lately. They've actively been adding in less and less centered stuff but the tricky trials update fixed that. Now the drops are kind show it was with 1.20 and 1.19. less connected features. Tho some drops have themes themselves they don't have too. It's just preference. They add a bunch of small similar things into a drop because they are probably easier to make together. This current drop is like that. It's easier to add mob variants of all the farm animals at once because they are already coding in a system to do so. The leaves share the code as the flowers that's just copied from the petals in the cherry biome. Leaf particles is a heavily asked for feature that they already hade code for. The bushes are both similar and again asked for features that just adds to the drop. And fireflies for in enough to warrant them as an ambience feature. They didn't have to theme it but it's better to knock off a checklist when half of it is reusable code and similar. This also helps with marketing the drop.

My geus is that mojang has a lot of small easy things lying around that don't fit on something big like a netherupdate. So they make drops to implement them and make much needed technical overhauls because drops are devolpd faster. At the same time a big update is worked on without the bagage of a bunch of smaller things worked in.

You already got overworld overhauls. Several times. Almost exclusively overworld updates for almost eight years in a row.

2 part comment 1) it would be really cool if they updated the pale garden so that at night, when the creakings were out, they would spread the pale garden throughout the dark forest, maybe even beyond, so it could be like the terraria corruption/crimson where you have to quarantine it, this would also solve the problem of people having tiny pale gardens. 2) for your next long term minecraft guide, i think it would be cool for us as subscribers to generate a seed, fly around briefly, and send them in sans detail, for you to load up in a video and then pick out a winner off of the first 360 degree look around the world standing from the spawn point.

Let me propose something for a dessert update, quicksand. would work just like powdered snow down to the leather boots, except you drown. However and this goes for the powdered snow to, i would love to see chance of finding ruins and tunnels under these generations. would be a great way to add thematic trial chambers based on the biome they spawn in.

Overall we need more life around the world, world generation is probably the only thing that keeps me exploring the minecraft world. I'll be very happy to see more interactions added

In my opinion they should actually bring back the old update system where they would update the game once every June because 1. This is during the time everyone will be off of school for the summer and get to experience the update 2. The old update system made the game so much more exciting like Tricky Trials, Caves and Cliffs, and the Nether Update

I think it would be smarter to release an update around size of the Wild Update in the Summer, then a winter drop....in the winter, and smaller technical updates that could add smaller features when finished throughout the year.
