How Cindy could have no feeling for her grandchildren is amazing. She never tried to get along with Shannon. Cindy acted more like a rejected lover over Chris. All in all it was a sick relationship. Guess the best thing for Cindy is that another woman will not take Chris away. He's locked up for life. I think she enjoys that.

And she was too little to know what to do 😭 She knew no other safe zone but by her daddy and mommy so she wasn't going to just run out of the car and leave. She was too little for that thought to even cross her mind. She was so helpless. These weren't even my babies and it makes me cry just thinking about it. There’s just something so terrible about the ultimate betrayal of a parent towards a little child. Out of all of it, I feel the most grief for little Bella. Haunting grief. Cece, too. They both loved their daddy, but Bella was older and clearly adored Chris. I was the oldest child and remember being that age, the complete, utter trust and feeling of safety I had with Dad. Bella singing, “My daddy is my hero” broke my heart. She was smart, and knew something terrible was going to happen to her. She knew something was terribly wrong with her mom, even if she lacked the words for it, on the trip to the oil well. She watched Chris smother CeCe, and I’m sure Cece would have struggled. Then it was only her and the man she loved most in all the world, asking if he was going to do the same thing to her. Such betrayal, with “Daddy no!” and a struggle to save herself. Poor little babies. I saw Chris in the police interrogation with HIS dad, who was very loving supportive of Chris, rubbing his back. Does Chris trust and love completely his own father? Imagine if Chris could change places with Bella & experience what she did. I wonder if he ever thinks about that. Probably not. This case will never not be upsetting.

My heart breaks for Bella, she’s the one who had it the worst, witnessing everything and at that age I’m sure she understood at some degree of what was happening, in the least understand enough to be so afraid seeing her mom dead, her father dragging the body to the car and then witnessing as Chris murdered her sister right in front of her and fearing she was going to be next, even asking her dad not to do it. That poor baby suffered horrible psychological torture before being murdered.

I have helped many of my comrades who have broken down because of the pressure on and off work. I have worked at a foundation to help support these firefighters. We have lost many of our dear friends to suicide because of the stress of the job and other factors. Firefighters, police officers, paramedics, first responders, even 9-1-1 dispatchers, they feel the pain of finding a dead child, seeing their partner die in the line of duty….they’re not robots! They carry that guilt with them!

As a nurse, I found it very informative, and it gave me a concrete understanding of how each family member met their tragic end. I can’t imagine being the emergency personnel charged with retrieving Bella, Celeste, and Shanann, or even the pathologist who performed the autopsies. This traumatic case will stay with these individuals for life.

When CW was asked, was he sure the girls were dead when he put them in the tanks, he said " yes ". Later, he said " he put the girls into the oil tanks, to make sure they didn't wake up again ". What a monster. I think the reason for putting them in separet tanks was to avoid the tanks from regestering a level change.

I did read some where that he had put them into different tanks to make sure the oil levels were kept at a certain level. Also I remember him saying that one of the girls had made a bigger splash. Its so horrible to hear this description of how they were disposed of. I hadn't heard this though, that he actually decided to put them into the oil, on case they woke up again. If true this suggests that he wasn't absolutely certain they had passed. Therefore I'm reading into this he may have thought they were possibly just unconscious, not dead, and that's why he did it. That's just beyond the realms of horridness. I hope that wasn't the case. I don't know what's worse, not knowing the truth of those hideous events that night or learning the honest truth about it all.

I remember the monster talking about he’d been told strangulation was an “intimate” means of murder during WDOC interview. So stupid he said to Agent Lee “I don’t get how that’s like intimate”. She had to explain the difference between killing with a weapon in opposition to killing with his bare hands. He’s such a half witted low life. Murdered his wife and children with his bare hands. @@jillsfindings339 we think alike! It pisses me off KNOWING he’s one of the rare few that does well incarcerated. Prison life is right up CW’s alley. IMO he’s perfectly content incarcerated. He doesn’t have any responsibilities and is so dull witted that anticipating his next meal is “exciting”. He thinks highly of himself and truly believes he’s a “good guy that made a mistake”. Some people comment that he should be subjected to pictures of what he did to his wife and children. I don’t believe that would even phase him. I’m not a big believer in hell either but “individuals” like him make me hope it exists too. Some people will say I’m mean too but I truly hope when he least expects it the warden will transfer him to general population. I don’t think he’s segregated like he was when Agent Lee, Special Agent Coder and Detective Baumhover (spelling incorrect) paid him a visit. I don’t believe he’s in general population either though. He needs to be and hopefully when he’s faded into obscurity and completely forgotten the warden will do the right thing. Maybe evil of me to think this way but I hope he gets tossed in the worst area of the prison. NK may have believed he was “Brown” and “half Cherokee” but nobody else is that dumb. He will have to pledge to the “Peckerwoods” and I hope they turn him out sexually and make him understand fear. I want him to feel the same type of fear he subjected his daughters to. I hope Shanann never knew what hit her but we know the girls did. CW needs to experience that level of fear.

What a tragic video. Michelle, I appreciate how respectful you have been in regards to these finding with Shannan and the girls. I have to wonder if Chris felt more anger/hostility for Cece due to the fact that she resembled Shannan in her actions and looks. The collapsed lungs on both of them seem to represent a more hostile and purposeful death with more force. Bella had an opportunity to fight back (I really do not like even typing this type of thing), so possibly Chris wasn’t as forceful with her (as in he really may not have wanted to do it as much)? I hope I’m making sense. This whole case has me emotionally involved (as like so many others). I just can’t imagine how a father/husband could do such heartless acts to his family. ☹️

The collapsed lungs in both Shan'ann & Celeste makes me think CW could have sat or put his knee on them in the process of pushing their faces into the pillow- it's hard to explain but it's a method of murder called burking after 2 serial killers Burke & Hare. Also in Bella's case I do think CW wasn't as forceful with her at the start but when he was faced with her fighting so hard for her life, he became furious with her & made sure there was no way she would survive his onslaught. Chris’ family still thinks Shannan hurt the girls and then he attacked her. Because that’s what they want to believe. The detectives suggested it to give him an ‘out’ so he would confess. They had to use a tool to get his confession. They were fabulous with their tactics.

One last note to think of: go back in time to Ted Bundy's mother or John Wayne Gacy's sister interviews. Those family members had to go through the mobs that hated the man they saw as a loved one through the years. And society is often cruel not thinking of them as victims also. The relatives must be stuck in between loving the predator but hating the criminal act.

@@igotbandaids yes it's exactly how she handles it, complete and total detachment from reality, the mother and sister both And it's not just because of this tragedy, that type of denial doesn't just come on suddenly It just gets worse with the tragedy like this, that is something that is a defense mechanism and it is a very toxic one and it's been in her for years it's in that whole family I was raised in a dysfunctional toxic abusive family I have a lot of experience with people like that I've also been in therapy for many years and Also in certain relationships in my lifetime I have been exposed to people who have similar denial characteristics, and not only that but their family members like their mother would have it as well And I would notice every time a circumstance would come up where I would just be very assertive, up front, and handle things in a very mature and well-rounded fashion, those types of people would not And they would get very prickly around me, and I've literally had a situation just like Shannon and Chris's mother Where someone's mother did not like me for those exact reasons Because I was outspoken, assertive, I had strong boundaries, I knew what I wanted out of life, and certain types of people with mental illness, or perhaps sociopathy, they will become very jealous, resentful when a new woman comes into their son's life Because she's just a constant reminder of the strength, assertiveness and power that they are not, that they don't have the courage to face themselves and work out and become So they develop an instant resentment for that person and it's not fair at all I've been gaslighted, and treated all kinds of ways by people like that So it's not any laughing matter, or a joke, those types of people are actually toxic and can be very dangerous and in this case it turned into a horrific tragedy I believe that kind of denial and detachment from reality runs all through Chris's family and was prevalent in his childhood.

I just want to say it broke the rest of my heart when I read a news story that passenger airlines, cargo airlines nor trains would transport their coffins back to Georgia for burial. There were so many volatile substances in their remains from being submerged in oil for days that there was a risk of explosion. They had to driven from Colorado to Georgia.

Correction - The frenulum is the connective tissue directly under the tongue. The gingiva is the skin which covers the gums. Petechiae are simply small blood vessels that have burst and they can occur on the skin as well. The buccal mucosa is the skin which covers the inside of the cheeks; they are not the lips.

You have to remember that he killed one child in front of the other. Bella asked, "Are you going to do the same to me now Daddy?" He also forced their heads and shoulders through holes 8 inches in diameter (across). He would have had to force them through with his feet. This left parts of the scalp and hair around them. This is a monster, a psychopath of the rarest kind and a total narcissist. They can only do this because they are totally devoid of empathy or remorse. If he had a shred of empathy he would not have been able to function normally afterwards and work colleagues said there was no difference in his demeanour. People attempt to understand how someone could do this, but they cannot hope to understand; they do not have a personality problem. To him, this would have been as easy as taking the rubbish out. He only cared about him and what he wanted as all narcissists do. They see a problem, or something they want and if you are in the way, you're history, including kids. Alex Murdaugh is the same kind of beast. They often hide behind their family man persona and yet underneath they are monsters, capable of the most heinous acts. How do we know he's a psychopath. The comments that the tanks must have been at different levels and that the girls made different splashes tell you how detached emotionally this monster was. To think that one tank must have been more empty takes a special kind of creature.

Originally, when all of this happened, I think we all assumed that he killed the girls at home. After he was in prison, he decided to let us all know that he tortured those little girls. My thoughts on this because a lot of people think that his mistress was involved and maybe he explained all of everything that happened to move any suspicion away from her, even though his recalling the events just makes him a bigger monster. I remember hearing all that stuff and I was just in shock that he did it the way he did it. None of it should’ve happened, but I think we all would’ve been more comfortable knowing the little girls were not tortured and traumatized.
