The consequence of the closed gap of longfills and shortfills and taxes on liquids can be seen in Germany. The same will happen in the UK. This loophole will also mean that PG and VG sold in e-cigarette shops will be taxed beforehand. This means that not only the vapers will have to pay the tax on it, but also the manufacturers and retailers will have to pay the tax in advance. If the tax is to be applied via tax stamps, the manufacturers must obtain machines to apply these tax stamps. That costs money. The consequence of this in Germany was that in addition to the tax on PG, VG, flavours, long fills and short fills, the price of all liquids was increased by around 2 euros by the retailers. Added to this is the 19 % VAT that is added at the end. In Germany, this resulted in massive sales for a year and vapers stocked up on huge bunkers so that they wouldn't have to buy anything for many years. The tax was introduced in June 2021. The sell-off period for retailers lasted until 14 January 2022. For the period from 1 July 2022 to 31 December 2023, EUR 0.16 per millilitre. For the period from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024, EUR 0.20 per millilitre; For the period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025, EUR 0.26 per millilitre From 1 January 2026 0.32 euros per millilitre" The tobacco tax alone in the first step meant a price increase of €1.92 for 10 ml of liquid. On top of this, however, there were additional price increases from retailers of €1-2 per bottle, regardless of the container size. 100 ml base with PG and VG cost around €34.95 in the vape shop in Germany. The result can still be seen today. The market is becoming increasingly competitive. The number of vape shops is decreasing and decreasing and decreasing. The topic of vaping is completely dead for vapers. In Germany, there aren't even any plain packs or restrictions on advertising in shops, which in the UK have already been announced by the government to a certain extent. The best thing you can do now is to get as many liquids and shortfills as you can. There may still be a few months, maybe even until the end of the year, to get a favourable price. Then it's over.

I was always taught forward planning. Just done a quick calculation - I’ve got enough 72mg/ml nicotine in a chest freezer to last me for over 100 years 😀. VG,PG will always be available. Most flavours you can get from bakery suppliers are in PG solution. I’ve tried many and can’t really notice any difference from those I’ve got from eliquid onliners …………………………so the message is clear STOCK UP NOW

Also I'm taking this in consideration of all vapers of the UK not just the "I'm ok screw everyone else" brigade. not everyone can diy, not everyone wants to diy (74 yr old Doris with her shaky hands is just an accident waiting to happen) 72mg is only legally available to registered businesses so be prepared for the black market price to go up. In Germany it is closed since 2020 already. Togethher with the tax this development had harsh consequences. Prices raised in relation for each flavour, longfill, shortfill, nicotine shots (10ml á 20mg/ml) and even 100 ml Pg/ VG costs 34,95 €.Result was several vapers collect as much as they where able within one year so that they don´t have to buy anything for many years.

You guys don't need to worry. Big tobacco is losing all its customers to vaping, but they have access to tobacco and menthol, so they will always allow tobacco and menthol flavours because they will be the lead players in it. The only downside for you guys though............they will put the price up to make more money from people addicted to their product, sorry I got that wrong I misspelt 'dissuade people from taking up the habit' lol. The thing is, this will just open up a black market for vapes, which we didn't want to happen because now there will be vapes manufactured on the black market by people who don't give a crap what's in them as long as they're making money. Hi everyone,yes we definitely need to fight this situation. I personally think vapes and juice should only be sold by a vape shops and nowhere else.Vape shops should have had a licence and they should be the only people holding the licence, maybe that would have put a stop to all these corner shops from distributing. If they decide to put a total ban on things it won't stop vaping because the black market will get a massive boost,and people will be vaping products that aren't regulated,not good. I am now stocking up as i make my own and have been for year.

I agree. Should have stopped convenience stores selling disposables. They have had the biggest effect on the vaping industry with regards to selling to kids and selling illegal disposables. I have a vape shop and heaven't replenished my stock of disposables for about 4 months, not worth it for me, I hardly sell any. All my customers are using refillable pod style devices and nic salts. I also get plenty of mature customers buying gummy bear and all the other flavours.

None of which are vapable as concentrates and PG is in all medical supply business and VG has all sorts of health and beauty applications. Could there be a loophole in calling short fills "weak concentrates" rather than vape liquid? As far as I'm aware there's no legislation about how strong a concrete has to be and they are already pg/vg based so rather than being a Doughnut liquid they would just be a 5% strength Doughnut concrete that just so hoppens to be able to be vaped 🤔

The intended use for the "weak concentrates" could be food and drink based, for instance if you wanted a non sweetening coffee syrup that just gave you flavor and not the strong sweet flavour or if you wanted to make a nice vanilla flavored goo filling for muffins, you'd just simply mix the weak concentrate with icing sugar and you have your filling. If people use it in a way it's not intended to be used such as vaping then that's up to them but it's intended use would not be specifically vape liquid.

Hi all,that was a real kick in the lower region, all I want to do is vape on my unwell caliburn A3 and I'm a shortfill vaper my go to flavours are peach,fresh orange juice,orange squeeze and melon. Think I'm gonna start stocking up on spare pods E-liquid,would like some advice as to how long a 100mil bottle of unopened, juice will last. F..king hand off labour shame on you for sucking up to farmers pharmaceutical and giving a leg up in a sneaky way to the tobacco industry. Grrrr

Learn how to mix up a one shot, simple to do. I would invest in something newer, like the Caliburn G3.

@@adenvet2830 Problem is the A3 is quite old now, and probably won't be made for much longer. The G3 is still a pod, and uses the very latest pods.

Cant stop that Vg in nearly every cough medicine! and concentrates are just that not a tobacco products all shops with just be home brew shop simples as long as you dont brand it as vape

100 ml PG and VG costs in Germany in the vape shops now 34,95 ,€. The majority will buy their PG/ VG outside of the vape shops in future as we also do.

Wel.. is vic the only one who speaks out in the UK?? Im from europe and the flavor ban in the Netherlands has gone to court for a judge to decide. Vapeshops , etc. have sued the government . Idk what the outcome of this wil be. But the thing is, we have open borders and no customs controle when you send a package inside the EU countrys, so we can buy from stores in other eu countrys. But in the case of the UK, you guys are stuck on an island with customs control. So you guys basically are fucked! Stand up now or it wil be game over for vaping in the uk

Vic, it’s time we have a voice who is going to stand up for vapers, UKVIA and all the others are all as much use as a chocolate condom, we need a consortium of vapers to go and talk to the MPs, My MP is Victoria Atkins, she’s anti vaping I’ve spoken to her, I’ve told her my story and there more interested in little Tommy! We need to get to parliament and talk to them. We need to compile everyone’s story and send it to the government show them how many of our lives vaping has saved and more so we need a figure head who don’t mind upsetting the MPs!

In Germany both trade associations also sued 2 years ago against the tax and also in 2020 when the loophole was closed for nicotine free stuff. Without any sucess. It was crystal clear that the government will also close the loophole in UK. Rather use your time to collect as much longfills and nicotine as you can until the law will come. No petition not even 10 million vapers at demonstrations will make this new announcement unhappen. The consultation is a pure bluff. The majority does not vape so they will of course vote like they did at the first consultation.

Okay so the way round this is to have the VG/PG unflavoured and no nicotine, then have a nic shot and flavour shot to mix in separately, like they currently do with nicotine for the 0 nic juice.
