The gameplay, the music, the graphics, the amazing water (back than it was huge), the vibrant color use and last but not the cheerful announcer, everything in this game was spot on. Easy 10/10 game. My favorite track was Drake Lake, so relaxing. Wonderful review :)

Loved this game! I believe it was my second N64 title (first being Mario 64). Used to play it for hours. Back then I was blown away by the wave physics.

This is a great game and very realistic. You feel like you are really riding a jetski and you can almost feel the water too. There is a lot of variety and it is so much fun to jump over the ramps and try all the expert moves.

Really loved this game! I was only 8 when it came out, but I was aware of stand-up jetskis and always thought they were really cool even though you hardly ever saw them once sitdowns came out in the early 90's. Ended up saving my money in middle school and bought an old '85 Kawasaki JS550, then an '89 Kawi 650SX in highschool, and here in my later years of college, I have a '95 Kawasaki 750SXi, which is awesome since it's all original with the super fresh 90's graphics on it, which is very reminiscent of Wave Race 64! They're a lot of fun, surprisingly very cheap, and they provide so much more depth to riding than the typical sitdown ski!

IMO this game is the ultimate tech showcase for the N64. It has everything. Water physics, transparencies, pleasant music, it's a showcase for the analog control, and it's really really fun. Back in the day this game was flat-out amazing and people laughed at Jet Moto on PlayStation in comparison with the graphics and physics in this game. To the point where I had to try to convince people to give Jet Moto a chance. LOL

Extremely well-made video, served as a pleasant stroll down memory lane to. Game seem to be oft-forgotten when speaking about early era N64, but in reality I think it's a game most people thoroughly enjoyed had they the chance to play it. Dem sound effects are too nostalgic.

this game was one of my first N64 games, and I enjoyed it a lot... never got really good with the stunt mode, but I loved the championship mode... as for the VS mode, my brother and I would play for hours on end, but my favorite memory is from the days my friends and I would get together and each bring our favorite N64 games (and extra controllers, if necessary) to play and even lend in exchange for other games... most of my friends were rather turned off by the lack of 4 player multi, but one in particular loved the game as much as I do; sadly, a few years after we graduated from high school, he died on a landslide accident on a construction site (he was studying to be an engineer), and now, whenever I see or hear about Wave Race 64, I can't help but to think of him and the fun we used to have back in school =')

One thing that I noticed when playing Wave Race 64 was a surprising lack of rubberbanding. If your AI opponents messed up and fell off while you didn't, you would have an incredible lead. Same thing the other way; you fall off and they don't, you're very likely to have a hard time getting 2nd. This alone makes it really great.

a lot of people don't realize that the Nintendo 64 is actually more powerful than ANY console, even to date. it had a whopping 16 core processor with each processor clocked at 3.6ghz minimum, and the graphics chip had 16gb of DDR memory that is actually faster than any GPU available even now. on top of that it had 64 GB of RAM onboard. a Nintendo 64 can actually run any modern PC game on max settings better than any console or PC. some might think this is hard to believe, and I agree but you have to remember this is before Nintendo adopted their policy forbidding their R and D teams from using time travel to take hardware components from the future. people spend so much on PCs for gaming these days and I'm just laughing, plugging my N64 into my 4k triple monitor set up, playing all the latest games on max settings with 90fps minimum. its crazy what these little consoles can do. they can even turn lies into truth.

You should do some reviews on more popular games with a cult folowing (like brutal doom for example? that's your most viral video right now so you must be doing something right, right?).Just my opinion, but you could do some reviews on more mods (sites like modb come to mind, or games like System shock 2) or maybe you could stalk the newer steam games (maybe even early acces? idk) that look promising and do a short review/hands on them? Awesome review though, very entertaining.

Yeah, I don't necessarily strategically plan my reviews, but Brutal Doom was one that I was suddenly inspired to create quickly after I discovered the mod, when general interest in it was low and on the rise. Mainly I just review games that I like, and most of those tend to be classics that have stood the test of time. That being said, there's not always a large audience for that type of thing. Had a PlayStation, crash bandicoot, jet moto. Thought it was great. Friend got a n64, Mario 64, wave race. Never touched jet moto or crash bandicoot again after trying both games on n64. i would argue that cds were the future and cartridges sucked, friend didn’t have to argue, just turned those beautiful games on, Mario running around freely, bad ass water effects and physics on wave race. That’s my fond memory of wave race and the shitty ass n64.. lol
