Is there a reason this solo arrangement is presented in key of E major vs D major? thanks

Hi Blueluce, the solo arrangement is in the key of E as it allows for the use of more open strings (particularly in the A section) making it easier to play. For instance the run at the end of the A section (with the trill) and also when moving from Amaj7 to Am6 the open bass allows for the voicings to be fingered fully realised. Another reason is that by shifting the melody up one tone, the separation between harmony and melody becomes enhanced. Hope that helps! Cheers, Ariel
