No exception to the golden rule! Stay always in the consumers' shoes. If a company asks to buy their product mainly for a feature which is not there, then rightfully the consumers shouldn't buy that product until the feature is actually out. For Marques, this can mean doing 2 reviews, 1 when the product is out (I guess because you must do it) recommending to wait before buying, and 1 when the feature is out sharing your final recommendations.

The rule "Never buy a product based on the promise of future software updates" should stand unchanged. If you're reconsidering this, why review the product now? Why not wait for the promised updates? Changing your stance on this makes your past critiques of other products feel inconsistent. Whether it's Apple or another company shouldn't matter-the point of a review is to inform buyers about the product as it stands today (at the point you are reviewing it) which is why the golden rule always made sense to me. You can mention future updates, but in no way should you use it to affect the customer's buying decision.

I feel like one of the biggest, but under the radar updates for the iPhone 16 phones, is that the main camera sensor will now read out twice as fast. This could be huge for computational photography and video. In theory the main camera can now process twice as much information when taking a photograph or video and use that information to produce better quality imagery. Remains to be seen, but not many channels are talking about this?

I own a PS5 with disk and without disk. The thing about the disk is that it still installs (and downloads/updates the game from the internet) on your local drive. The disks just act more or less like a license verification. The only difference between buying the disk and buying online is you have to put the disk in every time you want to play the game, which is still good for people who share games with friends. So, it is great that the disk is an optional accessory.
