The problem with that idea is that there’s a certain percentage of all electronics that go bad from any company no matter how it’s built. Eventually even the best stuff is going to need repairs.

And why isn't Samsung getting all kinds of grief about Monopoly cuz they steal from everyone? What's that about comments anyone

Well, I thought Apple had the whole ecosystem down until my friend bought a refurbished iPad that did not go well with setting up on his MacBook Pro. So Apple's ecosystem is no better than anyone's ecosystem. That's a bunch of crap. Windows includes Android. I don't know what everyone is doing but I would like quicken on Android. I hate having a Windows computer and pixel tablets Samsung laptops. It's just stupid. Could anything just all work together
@Marty_Stylist9 сағат бұрын
Because really Apple's not a monopoly. Give me a f****** break

I like what Mark Cuban says companies like Google and Amazon and apple need to be left alone because their R&D makes life better and they need all of this to actually create the new world we're living in. So breaking s*** up for companies that actually do it right. It's a little greedy on many many levels of this country's whole experience to begin with

BlueSky is the only app based on a protocol that would have solved the mess we are in today because of the Twitter disaster. The problem with Activity Pub is the Identity part. AT solved that brilliantly with the globally unique identifier that lets you be you everywhere and bring with you everything, followers, following content etc. The filtering of different streams can easily be done with streams within the protocol. Other than Meta supporting Activity Pub, it has nothing over AT while AT has a much better architecture for apps to be built on.

The specific photo picker feature for an app which David mentioned around 47:30 I have seen and used it on my CMF Phone with Android 14. Can someone explain how that is a new feature in Android 16 DP1? Perhaps even David can explain this to me??

One thing I hate about BlueSky - Decentralized protocol was supposed to be an open interface across which ALL social media could talk to each other. There was ActivityPub. Why did Bluesky Social have to make their own protocol. That defeats the purpose of having a protocol that is not controlled by a single company. And that too the company that is making one of the social media platforms using the protocol.

There is a reason to turn it off, when you use 2 SIM cards and you can’t pick up a call and want to send a quick response message iMessage will use your default number or email to send a message from. NOT the number the caller called on. This is very annoying, cos I ask them to call back later on the wrong number or an email. SMS doesn’t have that problem. Hence I just turn that off and use WhatsApp for anything else.

I still use a Chromebook today to develop android apps, 8gigs of ram intel i5 10th gen.... it isn't great but it gets the job done.... I've come to appreciate chrome os over the years.... I've tried using mrchromebox's firmware for Linux and all that ... love Linux ... but on this laptop I always come back to using chrome os .... it works well... and I like it much more than windows ... even with its quirks

They must be all Apple Sheep. Android and Windows has "Per app" phone screen mirroring for ages. It makes much more sense then iOS and macOS screen mirroring. I could see multiple apps on my phone at the same time. Android and Windows did that first and did that better than the "Apple Ecosystem"

45:09 Google has had multiplatform texting since 2009 in the form of google voice. You can even pick out your own phone number. I snagged one with my last name in it. Unfortunately, Google Voice does not support RCS which leaves me using Windows Phone Link to achieve what Andrew was complaining about Google not having even though they had it 1st and for 15+ years.
