13:30 you can also count the number of oscillations (cycles) divided by the time . Like there is 1¾ cycles in the wave to 14 seconds.what about one cycles 1¾->14s 1 1x14 ÷7/4 14×4 =56 56÷7 = 8

The crest should be at the top where the 5 is because the crest is the highest point the medium rises to and the trough should be at -5 because that is the lowest point the medium drops to so you made a small error there at 0:50 in the video but otherwise you provided a good explanation! 👍😀

I have around 3500 data points that create a wave. My task is to detect the maximum range of the wavelenght, so basically the largest distance from the crest to the trough and since my wave is pretty irregular I was wondering if there is a method to calculate and detect it. Take into account that between the crest and the trough there are also points (values) that I would of course exclude since they are not my crest nor my trough point.

Please correct me if I’m wrong (as I am only 12 and am not learning this in science) but isn’t the crest the top peak and the trough the bottom valley. And also I’m pretty sure that frequency is represented as f, not v. v is velocity.

if the frequency is cycles over second, then the cycles are second times frequecy. f= cy./1 cy.= 1*f if wavelength is distance over cycles then the cycles are distance over wavelength. λ = m/cy. cy.= m/λ So this produces the equation: 1*f = m/λ; if that is so, the both ratios between 1 and f as well as m and λ are the same if you change the wavelength you change one ratio of the equation and the other has to change as well, now if the wavelength changes and the frequency doesnt, it can only change the time for the given cycles of the frequency to fit in a second??? I can't understand this. Could you help me understand it? because the time for the cycles fit into a second is the second and if the time - the second - changes for other value than a second it will influence the frequency by means of influencing the cycles value...
