Those really fast strokes on the cowbell are actually a gravity blast. You can hardly see it, but he uses the drumkey as a fulcrum instead of the rim like with a normal gravity blast. That's actually really inventive and I can not imagine how much practice it takes to pull that off consistently. Also, you should check out some of his videos in your own time where he talks about it taking practice to get the skill he has, I always have the feeling he is a pretty humble guy and while I don't play drums myself, I think it's really inspiring. He just worked really hard to get to the point that he is, and obviously he has talent for the drums, but he will be the first to tell you that it takes a lot of practice as well (and a lot of takes to get it just right).

He was the drummer of "Saratoga" a Spanish band, but he left it a while ago to be able to focus on other kinds of projects. It's something that he decided.
