The lyrics were translated by Peter Lim, a fellow Maidiac, who is now living in Japan: Rinne/Reincarnation Taking my time I rise and fade and fall It’s a tragic reincarnation Going round and round in abandonment I’ve come to hate this excess state of mind I struggle with this hate What good is it for? What’s the point of it? This see-through secret Not more Stupid yeah Open your eyes ‘Cuz even if you stop breathing The world won’t change at all I know…. So then if it can’t end Even a meaningless mistake Twists the gears You know… The ticking of the clock doesn’t stop Get down That’s enough It can’t be fixed, I’m not waking up It separates, and life just keeps growing Rolling in, round, go ahead and go around Anywhere, to a place far away Go far away I should zip my lips Spit out this pain I’ll leave it up to you I felt like I heard a voice Close your eyes Even if the dream ends No one comes to help I know… This is why I can’t sleep Even when always doing right Nothing is born from faking it You know…. Break the ticking clock and Get down Reincarnation Living and Dying Why? What do you live for? Even if you cry out You can’t save anything in this world Honesty doesn’t pay That makes no sense Open your eyes ‘Cause even if you stop breathing The world won’t change at all I know….. It just doesn’t end Set me free Get down It’s sink or swim Shut up!

This is the song that turned me into a Maidiac. It's the lyrics as much as the kick-ass melody that did it. I can’t get enough of this song. I can't fathom Kanami's skill level on the guitar. Heck, everyone was ridiculously powerful in this song. Arrrrrggghhhh, I've become a Maidiac!!! 🤣

Here is an excerpt of Hiroshi Sakuda's interview from 24 January 2020: Akane: Well, that would be Reincarnation. It has a fast tempo, and I want to a sort of show off my playing style (laughs). I once said “I’m practicing at 170 to 180 BPM” and then this song came out above that, at 190 BPM (laughs). The song Spirit!! in our previous album had a tempo of 175 BPM, and I kicked the bass drum with two beats. That was my limit of recording then. Considering that, I feel like I did a good job at 190 BPM. That to the subject BPM.

As has been said before, Kanami's "musical brain" is wired differently to most other peoples. She structures songs without adhering to traditional music theory. And also adds in so many elements that wouldn't be thought to complement each other. And yet, they do. Obviously, the other Maids add a lot of their influences and talents into the writing too. They are the ultimate definition of a "Band". Oh! and I just love some of your technical descriptions, like, 'that slidey thing' Ha! Ha!. Another great reaction man. Cheers.

Akane had to practice a new double peddle technique for this one because when Kanami played her the demo at about 190 bpm it was 15-20 bpm more than what Akane thought her top speed was at the time.

My favorite part of the song, at 1:25 of this vid, is when Kanami brings the guitar in with those 3 notes, each one building excitement and just perfect. I don’t know how many times I listened to this song before I caught that part. It’s a super small part of the song, but extremely well thought out and executed extremely well. Just awesome.

Conqueror starts off with Page, then ends with Blooming and this face melter. It was to prep everyone for Unseen World. 😂
@VladimirChupin3 жыл бұрын
There was a big discussion among the Maidiacs at the time of CONQUEROR release, what would be an ideal song order. I bought this album also on Google Play, and after a few listens, it suddenly started to play it in backwards order. And then I realized that CONQUEROR is symbolizing life as it is. PAGE is the beginning of conscious life: the girls said, it's a wedding song. So, it's about youth and the start of life. Then the life continues, going through ups and downs, soft and harsh moments, and RINNE symbolizes death. Played backwards, it's like those movies which start from a murder scene, a tragic death of a person, and then show us how that person lived.
@garylai3633 жыл бұрын
@@VladimirChupin oh it’s the legendary Vladimir Chupin! Interesting take on the album order. Miku has said she spends a lot of time on the titles and order, so it’s all intentional. We can also think of Conqueror as a different side of BM, starting with turning a new Page, and ending up with Rinne. Thankfully it’s reincarnation and not just death, so they’ve come back even stronger (presumably). 😁
@VladimirChupin3 жыл бұрын
@@garylai363 The Maids said they are so happy now that they have released CONQUEROR. When we look back to it from the current vantage point, we should agree. At the moment, many people said they don't like it. But after Unseen World, it looks like CONQUEROR was a wise preparation step. When your mind is completely burned out with the energy of the Unseen World, at least we have an option of going back a little and relax 😉

Your reaction came out fine, Wave! What a kick-ass song, huh? Rumor has it that this song, and the “shut up” at the end, was a reaction to some fans criticizing them for “selling out”, or “going too soft” with their single “Start Over”, which I happen to think is a great song as well, but not everyone sees it that way.

An excerpt from the Natalie interview on 12 December 2019: -When we look at the music video [Rinne], which was released before the albums release, the ratio of English comments is crazy. Miku(G,Vo): Yes po. It's always like that, but it does seem that comments from oversea fans are double the usual po. -Why do you think so? Miku: When we released the MV of [endless Story] which is a more subdued song, there were many comments such as "So now they have changed their sound this way?" And after that we released the MV of [Rinne] which is Hard, so I believe they were excited that "Oh, There Hard Rock Spirit has not died!" po. It's very nice to know po. -(laughs). How much do KZbin and fan comments in SNS influence the band? Miku: We ego search pretty much, and talk about what has been written about us po. Kanami(G): We get depressed if their is negative feedback.(laughs) Miku: At those times we encourage each other "It's all right po!"(laughs) Kanami: I was depressed most at the time of [start over]! There were quite a few negative comments.(laughs) Misa(B): Yes there were. Miku: Until that song most of our songs were hard, and we presented a song that was in a different direction. Saiki(Vo): It's more like we look through the comments and "gain stimulants" than be influenced. Miku: Yes po. "I see, there are opinions like this." But it's great that we get so much feedback po. As no response at all is the most sad thing possible.

That's exactly what happened to me yesterday. KZbin has suggested to me a reactor who was discussing Manowar. And I looked into my archives, I've been at a Manowar concert in March 2019. I recorded it all. Maaaaan... They sound so thin in comparison to BAND-MAID. Pathetic. Even something like acoustic Puzzle has more energy in it than Manowar's fully plugged performance! I was sitting there, watching first Manowar, then BAND-MAID, and thought, "That's what the modern Japanese bands have brought to the music!" Indeed, if you would tell that raging Manowar crowd that they worship something like an empty nutshell, and they have to look up at five little Japanese girls in Maid outfits who would blow their mind into pieces...
@GaryHolloway-8103 жыл бұрын
@@VladimirChupin Absolutely right Vladimir. I have to ask but surely Manowar can't still be bare chested, wearing the chains, studded arm bands & tiny leather pants are they?
@VladimirChupin3 жыл бұрын
@@GaryHolloway-810 Well, they still are-although, of course, nobody's getting younger. But what strikes me, is how much the modern heavy music stepped up. I don't have anything against Manowar or any of the Metal Forefathers. They have made an important step forward at the time, but the scions have naturally exceeded the fathers.
