There is so much more rock star in Miku than one might expect at first glance or from a rhythm guitarist. And then even at the age of 810? No one will be able to match her in a hurry! :) All the best and congratulations Miku! Without you, the musical sides of the lives of many out there would be so much poorer. It’s a tough call but, more often than not, i will tell you that Sayonakidori is my favorite song on Unseen World. The melody is just incredible, and it still has all the awesome musicianship we alway get from the Maids. Plus it shows how far Miku has come. As good as her other “front woman” songs are this is next level. Probably the most challenging for her as far as playing and singing, plus she crafted beautiful lyrics as well.

Her high note at the end is heart piercing. And yes, MISA "holds down" the song, well said. I realized this song is after Kobato does her Magic Spell Time, with no audience. Miku is so brave indeed, do you think not having her fans cheering with her brings up some emotions for our pidgon? Strong shoulders she has. I can not help but associate the lyrics with missing out on Budokan. Is she telling us she misses us at servings?

Great reaction as always. Just a few trivial things about this song: Akane said in her twitter during their listening party of Unseen World that this song needs concentration since it has a lot of drum patterns and time signature changes. Miku requested a song from Kanami that is vocally challenging for her, and as usual, Kanami made a song that is quite a notch higher than Miku's vocal capabilities by making the melody pitch higher, especially at the end where her voice soars really high. And as for Sora's cover, it says on the video description "A 13 year old junior high school girl struggling all she can to play a drum cover" and she usually says BAND-MAID songs are hard but fun to play. As for the lyrics, AI アイ simply means "love". As a fellow translator of lyrics, sometimes lyricists (even novelists and manga/comic artists) write words in different styles (Romaji, Hiragana, and Katakana) to make the lyrics/words look and sound cooler, and sometimes it's just to promote literary vagueness. Awesome way to celebrate Miku's birthday.

Do you know what she is singing up to that high point at 12:35?? What is the lyric there? “It remains uneven and dyed red?”
@kairukafuka6022
@kairukafuka6022 2 жыл бұрын
The lyrics being referred is translated too literal. She is referring to her heart. Though it's still "uneven", no, I'd translate it as imbalanced or imperfect, and it's turning "red". 染めてく Someteku/Someru means to dye, to paint or to color. It also used to say "being influenced by". "Turning red" or "It's red" is the simplest way to comprehend it. Red in Japanese archaic terms means beautiful. Red can also interpreted as passionate or intimate. It's usually up to the listener's to interpret what Miku is portraying in her lyrics as it can be both literal and metaphoric.

WOW Friggin' WOW !!! Miku has probably written the lyrics as well and has really stepped out of the shadows for this one, One hell of song and vocals. Am guessing probably Kanami has played a big part in the music and with Akane and Misa doing a lot of accents and time changes..... It's another Band Maid Classic....... at lives, Saiki can have a well earned break , although wouldn't be surprised if she is there for the harmonies as Kanami seems to have her hands full most of the time with all her gem parts. Another lovely surprise from the girls. Just when think they can't do any better...They Do !

Seeing Miku front and center on this and "Rock in Me" always brings a little tear to my eye. I think back to her trying to be an Idol and after each attempt fell through she's back "waiting tables" at the cafe. But still she refused to give up. She finally decides to make her own band, and then fires *herself* as lead singer. So when I see her out front singing lead ... it's like her dream finally coming true. And that makes me teary :) Unrelated: But in a previous video, you were remarking on Miku's Flappy Pigeon - but it wasn't. She is playing her Flappy Pigeon in *this* video. Even though it's got the same Zemaitis (sp?) silver styling and scrollwork (the engraving is all different though - and gorgeous) it is easily discernable by the black bit on the upper edge (as played) with the inlaid flowers.

Sayonakidori is my favorite song from UW :D but I think it's underrated. People tends to forget Miku can actually sing and might even have a wider vocal range than Saiki (but Saiki is the right fit/timbre for 90% of their songs). The birthday lady has every right to be proud of this effort. It translates as Songbird. When you read any lyrics from any Kobato-Tono penned song this is Miku speaking and speaking from her heart. Also all of her lyrics have two or three meanings. In The Dragon Cries, for example, it is not just the larger tragedy of extinction of species, including our own, but the personal tragedy of a loved one dying and suddenly leaving. Or About Us which is about Band-Maid. And about Band-Maid's relationship with their fans and about every single person on the planet. These double and triple meanings are everywhere in Miku's lyrics. One last example is l Still Seek Revenge. That is Miku seeking revenge. First person. I seek revenge. Against who you say? I would suggest the unnamed idiot who broke her heart, the idol system that put her in Lil Cumin and then discarded her, the previous record companies who denied her request to record Kobato-Tono songs for far too long and all the haters all along the way. And that's just for starters. This, IMO, is the only way to fully understand her and her band. Manners is not about etiquette. It is about the manner in which something is accomplished. In this case world domination and being plural it means that there is more than one manner to go about that very lofty goal. Thanks for your support. Sacramento loves Band-Maid. "It's sink or swim. Miku explained she was having trouble with the lyrics and Tony said yes. Miku and Saiki went to NYC and they together produced the all English version. This was vocals only that were recorded in NYC. Now as to the co credit given to Thomas Kenny. No one can work or receive such credit unless they are listed with ASCAP. EVERY single person in the music industry is listed there. You cannot receive publishing rights or royalties unless you are so listed. He is not listed. Any search for him in any data base or Wikipedia or whatever yields no proof of Mr Kenny's existence let alone credit as author of any song. Those are the facts. Further, Tony Visconti has a very long history of using pseudonyms on records he is involved with. He listed John Lennon as Sir Winston O'boogey on a David Bowie album for example. The real story is Tony Visconti got a co-writing credit under a pseudonym. Can l prove it as a certainty? No. But the facts are as stated above.

Between Sora, Yoyoka, Li-sa-X, Hal-Ca and all the others whose names are not yet as well-known we'll have to change Mr. RnR's line to 'No matter what instrument you play, whether you are a professional or not, there's a Japanese school girl that's better than you.'

Awesome to hear that level of voice control. I still remember Miku's live performance of Time, which was honestly not in tune at all. Great progress :)

BTW Kanami is doing backing vocals at times in this song, as if she isn't busy enough on guitar.

Checking this out before youtube nukes it, lol. Just a heads up it's almost a guarantee with any of the online okyu-ji performances unless they are an official video on their KZbin channel... anyway, best Miku song & one of my favorites from Unseen World. 👍

I assume that the A I (ah ii or アイ) part is a reference to the word for love, "Ai" (愛). If it were referring to the English "A I" like for Artificial Intelligence, it would probably be spelled in Katakana as "eh ah i" (エアイ), but who knows. Maybe I'll ask some translators I know. If I do I'll update this with what they said.

Well- its true for many types of music that if its good it makes you wanna dance. But some types of music, no matter how incredible an example of it - wont. Like almost all classical music. A great piece of classical music makes you lay back with your eyes shut and drift away, or your arm hairs stand on end. Or maybe cry. But almost none of them are danceable lol.

There's an interview when the album came out where Akane says of this song (not with these words, obviously) "It is so hard, if I miss even one beat I'm f*cked because I can never catch up again" that made me laugh out loud. She wrote a song so hard that it scared her!

@@WavePotter And to think they are all like that! Writing impossible parts, recording in separate parts then having to scramble to learn them as one piece to play live! I'm sure someone else might have said that already in the comments here, but Kobato "sent back" the first few drafts of this song, telling Kanami "no, make it harder to play AND to sing!" Check out the album version, is much cleaner and showcases even more the impossible stuff they're doing here.

As good as this is, the Christmas acoustic version is a better arrangement. It's just Miku playing guitar and singing while MISA and Akane accompany her. Whatever longing or sadness is in the lyrics come through more in the laid back version.
