There are different levels of most powerful in my opinion. Inadu obviously had raw magical strength, she was quite powerful only in spirit form, possessing Vampires and using magic as a Vampire host. Casting spells in spirit form like killing Elijah. Also her power was already enhanced as the elders of her tribes came together and cast a spell onto Inadu before she was born to be born a powerful witch/spellcaster. Qetsiyah for what she accomplished with her magic - creating the other side, a supernatural purgatory that trapped all supernatural beings for 2000 years, resurrecting herself to a physical form from her own purgatory, creating the immortality spell and its cure. Her magic is so powerful her calcified blood could be used to enhance your own power. Dahlia for her ability to cast spells without word, multiple times she is seen using only hand motions as her spellcasting and not so much spoken spells. like destroying the "indestructible" white oak stake into ashes. Creating her own suedo-immortality. Esther for creating Vampires and also a form of immortality, resurrecting herself from death into a physical form, resurrecting others (Kol, Finn, Ansel). She Also created a more powerful original Vampire (Alaric Vamp). Hope for her potential, she was stated as the most powerful witch to walk the earth hence why Inadu wanted to occupy her body. Hope is the direct descendant of Inadu's bloodline, and descended from Esther and Dahlia's bloodline as a first born is stated to have tremendous power, and being young her current potential is not known. I feel Davina is sometimes sat on, the scene used in this video for her, silencing a room full of Vampires and then snapping all their necks with a wave of her hand is not an easy feat. There are more arguments or points but then it would go on and on forever lol.

Davina used a line of salt as a conduit for a potent sleep spell which allowed her to knock out the club full of vampires. Didn't really snap their necks. However, her spell didn't affect Lucien because he was under the protection of the ancestor's magic garding him so he was also able to walk pass the salt line which was also a barrier spell.

Esther is not powerful as the firstborn within her family bloodline but she's a talented witch to the point that all of the witches not just in New Orleans but all of the witches in the world are wanted to know all of the spells in Esther's grimoire.

Powerful is very flexible. Davina was able to silence and then break the necks of an entire party of vampires and take down Klaus and the originals multiple times even creating her own spells. Bonnie blasted back hell, constantly channeled powerful spells and was the main witch for a long ass time. Inadu was able to take over people’s bodies torment New Orleans for years and had been powered up by her tribes. Then there’s Freya who was born a first born witch and who had spent years being taught by Davina before destroying Lucien, helping beat the Hollow, and doing some fantastically brilliant feats, breaking spells made by dark objects. Josie for her siphoning, ability to think quick and the way she could summon such raw dark power. Qetsiyah literally invented immortality and her talisman was literally made of her bones. Dahlia could cast without a word and almost destroyed the Mikaelson family with a flick of her wrist when she destroyed the white oak and sent it into their bodies. Esther for her skill of witchcraft and creation of vampires. Lizzie for her ability to break a sire bond and her ability to siphon a fucking god. Hope for going toe to toe with a god, though that could also be just because she’s all three magical creatures that we started out with. Power is relative and as we’ve seen some witches can do things others cannot do. It think it can’t be stated who truly has the most raw power but rather who uses it the best, and in what situation they are able to use it in a fight or in various situations.

Inadu was mainly in spirit form but as stated she once said "I've long wanted to be mortal" but kept getting killed. In her spirit form, she didn't have the leverage she did against the Mikaelsons as she did in her mortal form.

Add to that, the way Inadu was able to bring Davina back from the dead with zero effort, that's the tipping point for me.

Hope was a regular witch back then in which after she dies, she would be back as a full tribrid, which means she would be stronger than The Originals and probably The Beast themselves (strength speaking) and she hadn't activated her curse yet. Also, it was Inadu's spirit who drave people crazy not her magic in specific as she says to Vincent and Klaus once. "Add to that, the way Inadu was able to bring Davina back from the dead with zero effort, that's the tipping point for me." By the way, it was never said how and why Inadu could bring Davina back to life but not Vincent who was The Regent but it could whether be a bad writting or due to her the sacrificies in her name in which amplified her magic.

@@WinniePooh33 technically Inadu’s is 1,500 years old but also take into consideration her bloodline so that would put her bloodline around the same age as the Bennett’s because her bloodline were all witches before she cursed them then add in the mikaelson’s bloodline which they are just over 1,000 years old. So they are not that far apart but it has been stated that while Bennett’s are powerful they are nowhere near the mikaelson’s powers this is evident in the first borns of their bloodlines Freya and hope and probably even klaus had he not been turned considering he is a first born of Esther and ansel. Hope is entirely on a different level though and nature itself had a part to play in that it made hope the strongest witch to ever exist not just because of her bloodlines but because she is the first wolf and vampire to use magic. I’m curious though if there has ever been a wolf and witch hybrid before cause in the originals with Freya, keelin and Vincent he states that the child will be both wolf and witch.

@@Mcherri Inadu's bloodline wouldn't be as old as the Bennett bloodline because Qetsiyah bloodline also has roots in the 1st century B.C. which is literally ancient Greece while Inadu is A.D 5-6 century native Americans. Mikaelson isn't comparable to the oldest bloodline and most powerful bloodline. Which primarily practices traditional magic, which uses one's own energy, its innate raw power and yet with this accomplished feats, that the Mikaelson resorting to Dark magic couldn't perfected. Ayana, Bennett is the literal mentor of Esther, who preserved her body and kept her alive for centuries, Esther begged to Ayana to make them strong. Ayana is the creator of Esther talisman, Esther channels the entirety of Bennett bloodline for power, the bennett bloodline created the Gilbert ring that grants temporary immortality, the bennett coven held back the first hellfire and Bonnie did it again, the Bennett bloodline created the otherside literally every single being including Inadu wouldn't have any chance of resurrecting, spirit magic, ancestral magic, wont of exist if it weren't for Qetsiyah, Qetsiyah literally saved them all from Cade's dimension. The Bennett Bloodline created true immortality, Bonnie creates an entire world with a scream, the Bennett bloodline created the hunters mark, including creating immunity to all magic, immunity to vampire compulsion, immortal psychic powers, immunity to the passenger spells, the bennett bloodline created the vampire compass. @@Mcherri The funny thing is, Dahlia only gotten stronger from use of practicing dark magic ...they weren't innately strong. As shown in the flashback of the Viking's attack, they lost against barbarians. Dahlia learned a little from her own mother but grew in power by working with(and channeling) Esther said by the writers. The Vikings actually used Dahlia to conquer villages and after Esther's abandonment she tapped in dark magic. I love Dahlia, but come on, the Mikaelson does not compare to the Bennett bloodline.

I believe the most powerful witch in existence is the hollow. As a baby, Inadu was the first born of two most powerful native American witches that married together to unite their rival tribes. During the pregnancy the hollow was granted more magic by the tribe elders so the baby would grow very powerful. The hollow was the one who created the warewolf curse way before the creation of vampires. As a spirit imprisoned in the ancestral plane of new Orleans, her magic was still large and powerful enough to fuel and empower multiple witches in the living world who were her followers. The hollow was powerful enough to resurrect Dominic in Hope's body after Elijah ripped out his heart and also resurrected Davina Claire without even a spell. A feat that most witches are incapable of doing with their own magic as it is never enough to power a resurrection spell unless magic is borrowed or channeled from a very powerful source, example: •The collective power of the ancestors magic • a nexus vorti An astronomical event. The 2nd most powerful witch would be Dahlia. Her power has grown over 10 centuries of magical sleep. So she had the power of a century to use for every single year of life. This power was strong enough to control large crowds of people into puppets to do her bidding. Dahlia was powerful enough to remove a curse from Josephine Larue's hands with just a blow of her mouth. No incantation. Dahlia was unstoppable and couldn't even be beaten by Rebecca, Klause and Elijah all at once. I'd say dahlia is way more powerful than Quetsiyah, Esther, Bonnie, Freya and hope as the height of Dahlia's magic is too strong against other witches that have massive power. Hope wouldn't stand a chance against dahlia as Dahlia's slumber spell grants her immortality from harm. Dahlia was even able to break spells while unconscious to the point Freya wasn't able to slow her magic before she melted the dagger from Klause's heart. With the other side being no more because of its collapse, Bonnie is no longer powerful enough to contact and channel her ancestors for added power as the other side was a supernatural barrier to prevent dead supernatural beings from finding peace and moving on and thus spirit magic became what witches in mystic falls used to channel power from the dead spirits of the other side.

@@sonnyitaliano4158 well, combining something Freya said about never having a home making her somehow weaker (and incapacitated to perform certain kind of magic that required having roots) and the fact that in legacies we see the necromancer easily resuscitating a Bennett witch, I think it's possible that there's another way to tap into the power of one's bloodline. In the 8th season they told us that the bennet coven thrived in mystic falls long before the founding families came and took control over the land; and there's the 100 witches who died trying to stop Cade and the sirens: their death marked the ground.

Dahlia is by far more powerful than Qetsiyah in terms of magic strenght and skill. I mean come on Dahlia with just a taste of her power was able to desicate the original hybrid and another original vampire at the same time with no incantation or physical interaction plus she could handle Freya at the same time (one of the most powerful witches in TVDU) alll of that with easy. She also destroyed the weapon that could kill her with just a movement of her hand. If it hadn't been for the love she had for her sister Esther at the end, she would have ended the original family with easy, and that's a fact. I would have liked to see more of Dahlia's power in the series causa Im convinced that she held back and didn't really show her true power because she didn't need to. So my Top 3 would be: 1. No, Dahlia is strong af but a bit overrated. The reason why she was insanely strong was becuase she was channeling power from Freya, a powerful mikaelson witch. The Hollow and Quetsiyah were by their own more powerful than her. Dahlia might be first in skill though, becuase she was a phenomenal strategist. If we're talking about feats then Quetsiyah is first, only Bonnie can compete top 5 in power 1. The Hollow 2. Quetsiyah(can make a case for her being number 1) 3. Dahlia 4. Bonnie 5. Hope. We are talking about a first born Mikaelson witch so from the start she was given devastating innate power, secondly she has been increasing massively her OWN power by sleeping 1000 years. So if you combine that insane magical power ,which is her OWN power, with the skill and knowledge she has you get easly a more powerful witch than Quetsiyah. Moreover the fact that she was immortal and she could use her maximum power without any risk of dying due to the excessive use of magic (nose bleedings...). @@godfather53 Yes, Quetsiyah has better feats overall but Dahlia did similar things: she created the true immortality spell for a witch that allowed you to keep your magic and even enchance it more powerful over the years (the only cost was that you had to sleep for it, and if she used her own connective magic herself with Hope or another immortal being she wouldn't have needed to sleep anymore). On the other hand she created a limbo in a talisman that prevented souls in there to get into the other side. However Im gonna give the better feats to Tessa because she did great things, but honestly nothing really special that Dahlia couldn't have done if she had other intentions in mind. In fact the writers said that Dahlia: "was the most powerful thing in this universe" (apart from Hope). We've seen Tessa against ordinary vampires and sometimes she had difficulties, on the other hand Dahlia was againt the ORIGINAL FAMILY (including Freya with devastating power cause she was linked and immortal too) and she could have ended the entire series in a blink of her eye even with no verbal incantation (she destroyed the undestructible oak stack with no spell and killing them all like if they were insects), she was always holdin back cause she didnt have the need to use more power against them and in the end due to her love for Esther she was deffeated (I mean Dahlia in the last fight was so fcking confident and calmed that she didnt have the need to destroy the weapon that could kill her and Klaus had, if she wanted to destroy it she would have done it with a small movement of her hand).

Questyah is obviously a Top 4 but I dont think she is more powerful than Inadu maybe overpowers Dalhia. Many people defends her because she is probably the oldest witch with experience but oldest does not mean strongest, YES She was able to take down Silas or neutralize him, yes also created a whole supernatural purgatory in order to separate for good her ex fiance with his side girl. But his spell stock feels more limited any capable witch was able to use cheat codes and take down her most poweful spells (except the inmortality one) at this point and not to mention she was just killed by a bunch of pissed travelers... how is that? Inadu had been gaining power since she got killed she did not waste any time looking to be taken back by his cheating ex or creating useless hunters, even a tribe of native american warlocks achived creating a more efficient hunter (Rayna) than the 5. So, for me, from strongest to weakest when it comes to natural power: 1. Qetsiyah-used her own power to create a spell that not even Nature itself could revoke. This remains one of if not the most powerful spell in history. Also created the Cure with her own power, something Silas thought was impossible, a feat Dahlia couldn’t even achieve so she could cure the Originals and take their first borns. She also arguably created the Other side with her own power. It was stated that just a small portion of her blood was equal in power to a celestial event, meaning her total power would have been equal to multiple celestial events. She could also resurrect the dead with her own power. 2. Bonnie-with less than ten years of power growth, her magic was able to do things no other witch below her could do without channeling. She’s used her own magic to break the spells of one of the most powerful witches in history with just 2 years growth. She was also powerful enough to use her own magic to make a spirit corporeal, making the spirit manifest physically like flesh in season 3. That was very advanced magic and powerful for a witch with only about two years power growth. She was powerful enough to resurrect the dead up to 3 times in season 7 and cast a resuscitation spell to technically bring Matt Donovan back from the dead (something only Elder witches of New Orleans, like Genevieve were able to do). Her magic was powerful enough to protect her and the twins from a massive explosion. She was powerful enough to contain the totality of psychic Hellfire in a massive forcefield while she was in another town 12 kilometres away (which proved that her innate magic was equal to 100 witches), then she used her innate power to redirect all that massive fire over those 12 kilometres without even looking, just using her mind (which proved that she was stronger than 100 witches because it would have required more magic to sustain such a spell over 12 kilometres), then she still had enough magic to hold the whole explosion off when it finally reached her. This shows Bonnie’s magic could fend off a massive and extremely powerful explosions. No single witch, except Qetsiyah, has shown this natural level of power, especially with less than 10 years growth. This is without adding her psychic powers and psychic potential. 3. Emily-the only feat she was stated to channel for was the Tomb Seal spell. That aside, she excelled in healing spells on humans (said to be difficult) and created a resurrection spell. But the reason she’s in number three is because she resurrected Jeremy with her own power when the other spirits refused to help Bonnie. None of the witches below have proven able to resurrect the dead with just their innate power. Which means they’re innately weaker than Emily. 4. Celeste-she was stated to be one of the most powerful witches in New Orleans but still lacked power equal to 100 witches to “put Klaus in his place” in basically her own words. Though, she was powerful enough to cast a protection spell on Davina and also herself (which was basically resurrection) with most likely her own power. So, infact, I’d put her above Freya because being able to cast protection spells with your own power means your power can resurrect the dead. She was also powerful enough to use her very own power to cast the Crescent Curse, despite not being a blood relative of the Hollow, making crescent wolves turn human only once a month. The raw innate magic in her corpse was considered to complete the Harvest just as they wanted to use Esther’s innate power. 5. Freya-first born magic itself was shown to be powerful at most. So this makes her naturally powerful by default. That aside, she has proven powerful when she teleported an object 4000+ miles away and then astral projected there later. Freya is also powerful enough to give ancient vampires powerful migraines and created a seal that trapped Lucien for minutes until the Ancestors broke it. She’s the only witch I can recall who could create a boundary spell strong enough to withstand a Beast with just her hands. I can’t recall any other big feat she used with her own power. But regardless, nothing she’s done tops resurrecting the dead with your own power, which is something Bonnie, Emily, Tessa and, most likely, Celeste could do without channeling. 6. Hope-if we’re talking strictly witch power then Hope would be on the same level as Freya (at the same age, not adult Freya) and slightly stronger than Vincent. Vincent has shown himself to be nearly on per with first borns in raw power. But if you add in her tribridness (the vampire blood in her system is dark magic and is naturally tainting her magic, making it more powerful) then her magic becomes a little more powerful than Freya’s (at the same age) and Vincent’s. Among all the false, unreliable, and true statements made about Hope’s innate power she never proved to be naturally more powerful than the witches above her in this list. 7. Vincent-he was stated to be one of the most powerful witches in New Orleans. Esther specifically chose his body to host Finn’s spirit because he was a powerful witch. Esther doesn’t possess weak witches but only powerful ones. His innate power was strong enough to complete the Harvest (which only Elders can do). And he proved able to do a feat that Harvest Davina did when he made Klaus choke on the blood of the innocents. Yet, he wasn’t powerful enough to resurrect the dead with his own power. Else he’d have shown this. Continue my statement in the reply section below.

But if we are talking most powerful witch overrall (that is innate power and channeled power), at their most powerful, then it’ll be like this: 1. Season 8 Bonnie-simply because she had the power of the entire Bennett bloodline (including Qetsiyah’s power) behind her and used all that power through her body and survived. Plus her psychic power was extremely powerful at this point, allowing her to read minds, control spirits of the dead, create a pocket dimension without trying, blocking her mind from the psychic strength of a 4200 year old psychic. She could also use all of this from over 12 kilometres without having to be in the same area. She also can still practice Expression (the only magic said to be limitless) and knows how to do this. She could match anyone in the list below her in both innate power plus the power of the Bennett bloodline and or Expression. I can’t see anyone below her being able to withstand someone with all these resources at their disposal. 2. Esther-basically potentially as powerful as season 8 Bonnie, the only difference is that Bonnie has more innate power than Esther. This alone makes season 8 Bonnie stronger than Esther with the power of the Bennett bloodline. But apart from that, Bonnie is also an extremely powerful psychic plus she also knows Expression. Though Esther never used all this power so, I can’t really say if she’d have been successful at using all that power at once like Bonnie or not. 3. The Hollow-the only reason she’s down here is because the Ancestors’ combine power (which was much much much lesser than the amount of dead Bennett witches) was able to bind and imprison her 200 years ago, when they weren’t even as powerful as they are now. She also hid from them and didn’t even prove to be more powerful when she came back to life. Else she’d have been the most powerful overall witch in the TVDU. 4. Qetsiyah-she wasn’t combatant witch like Dahlia, but her overall power was strong enough to create True Immortality, the Other Side, the Cure, and the Anchor, within a short period. She did all of this without having to sleep for 1000 years and channeling another witch’s magic and other sources of power. She is placed above Dahlia strictly based on her ancient power alone, where she could achieve things that Dahlia still couldn’t achieve despite all the power she amassed. 5. Slumber Dahlia-her total power was greater than all the witches below her but it wasn’t enough for her to break her sleep cycle and or achieve True Immortality, without Nature fighting back. But Nature couldn’t fight back Qetsiyah because Qetsiyah’s magic was just so strong that she could create an Immortal without channeling anything. Dahlia wasn’t also able to undo Vampirism 1000 years ago when she discovered that Esther had turned her children into undead immortals. And she also couldn’t do so 1000 years later, so she could get firstborns naturally. But Qetsiyah’s magic was strong enough to undo vampirism. 6. Slumber Freya-a water down version of Dahlia, proven to be equal in power to 100 witches, when she was able to break the cloaking spell on Hope (powered by 100 witches). She could also resurrect the dead as shown when she brought back Finncent. She was stronger than every other version of Esther apart from the one I mentioned above. 7. Papa Tunde-when he came back and sacrificed an Original, he had access to endless magical energy because of the uniqueness of that sacrifice, which would have put him at the top of this list, even stronger than the Hollow (because even the Hollow did not have endless magic). It allowed him to become unkillable like an Original and even better because his neck couldn’t be broken, unlike Originals. But I put him down here because we didn’t see much from him with that power. 8. Celeste-at her strongest, she also had the Harvest power plus her own power, which she hijacked after Harvest Davina was killed, and she used this power to resurrect 3 ancestors. 9. Harvest Davina-yes I know she showed us all the flashiness with the Harvest power but Celeste gained access to the same power and used it to do more powerful feats like triple resurrection. Also Celeste was a vastly more experienced and more powerful witch than Davina at base level. So her use of the Harvest power would have been more effective and efficient than Harvest Davina ever did. I would have said Regents but they only have the power to use all the power of the Ancestors only once and doesn’t seem like they use the power of all the ancestors. If I’m to count this, then technically a Regent should be stronger than Dahlia and even the Hollow because there’s no way Dahlia or the Hollow could withstand hundreds of dead witches at once.

I doubt that Qetsiyah is stronger than Dahlia and especially Inadu. Well to be fair, Qetsiyah only had 5-10episodes of featuring her and obviously we didn't get to see much of her power. True, Qetsiyah created the other side, the first immortality spell and also the cure and she's the first of Bennet bloodline. But Dahlia is the master of Dark Magic, the only reason that she was no longer a threat is that she finally got what she wanted - her sister(Esther) that would apologise to her(if I remember correctly). And Inadu created Werewolf specie. She was so strong that death wasn't a solution for her defeat either, but instead she was a more powerful spirit afterlife. If you have another opinions, I'd gladly listen to them.

I don’t believe Hope should be number 1. It should be Inadu, I mean she possessed many of the Mikaelsons and she is the only witch actually powerful enough to kill an original without the white oak stake. She killed Elijah with a spell. Quetsiyah should be second for creating the other side and immortality spell. Bonnie should be third for stopping Hellfire, nearly killing the Devil and creating another side for Enzo. Dahlia doesn't use dark magic and being a psychic doesn't amplify Bonnie's magic, also it was never stated Qetsiyah only used traditional magic since she was abandoned by he coven. She used aspects of black magic to create her form of connective magic. Dark magic has a cost and the cost of the fertility spell was the first born of every generation having to be turned over to Dahlia which is clearly said in season 2. I wasn’t talking about them turning against Esther. The originals obviously wouldn’t benefit from psychic power because they aren’t witches, genius. Only true immortals like Silas have access to mental abilities. Being a psychic and being a witch can go hand in hand which is how Bonnie benefits from that.

And, no, the “price” of every firstborn was something Dahlia asked for Esther to pay the amount of magic she needed to cast the spell not Nature’s desire. True immortality also doesn’t exist and you should know that already, without mentioning that Silas is not a psychic but a telepathy since psychic is a natural creature and Silas is not natural. He had powers similar to psychic ones but it wasn’t psychic powers.
