Thanks! I use Husqvarna; the medium sized XP model with a carving kit. You can go to Bailey's online to find the carving kits. The right saw and kit makes it much easier.

Amazing work! I need a new hobby and would like to do some smaller carved statues as gifts and decorations, do you have any advice on how to make a start? I'm guessing a lot of practice and patience. I only started using a chainsaw early this year.

Thank you! My advice would be to get a professional saw with a carving kit from www.baileysonline.com. Also get a die grinder, 4-1/2" grinder, Sabertooth bits and a donut wheel, and any other woodworking tools like chisels. These tools will have you well own your way to carving some really cool stuff! And watch a lot of KZbin videos on carving.

To do smaller, simpler sculptures, get a bandsaw and cut out 1"-2" thick boards with silhouettes of different animals and finish them with a pocket or carving knife.
