Glad someone shared their wavy hair routine. All the internet is full with straight and curly hair routines 😭
@SophieMarieGraf2 жыл бұрын
My FULL bowl method + diffusing routine is now posted 💛 Since this seems to be a point of confusion: products like this will NOT create waves or curls in someone's hair! Nor will scrunching. Straight hair will not respond to this. These are methods people of all texture types (waves, curls, coils) do to help define their texture. This is not something that *needs* to be done, but it helps reduce frizz, improve hair health, and increase definition for waves! Obviously my hair still dries wavy without this, just very puffy and frizzy, so I like to do a routine :) Products: Prose shampoo/conditioner/curl cream :) I recommend Not Your Mother's Curl Talk mousse or the John Frieda curl reviver mousse if you want a hold product! I use OUAI's hair oil to scrunch out the crunch :)

Gorgeous, serious hair goals ❤️💕 I’m sorry, but I wasn’t able to catch it. What were the names of the products in particular here that you used? I’m interested in switching up my shampoo and conditioner game because my hair has a similar wave to yours. I know for a fact I don’t invest in it like I should, and damn it I’m turning 40 this year. I wanna look and feel good🥰😍

@@Kristenrb1 Haha do not apologize, this is such a fast video! I made it for my TikTok, but I'm in the process of filming longer form videos for KZbin :) I specifically use Prose shampoo/conditioner/curl cream--they are a custom hair care company and while a bit pricey they are 100% worth it IMO. Ive been using the shampoo/conditioner for 3 years and have yet to find anything that compares (sadly I am not sponsored by them haha) I am currently also using John Frieda's dream curls curl reviver mousse on days when I want extra hold and volume! And the diffuser is from Drybar :) None of those are paid promotions, just stuff I buy for myself and love, but I do have affiliate links for those all on my website!

I did a straightening treatment about one year ago because I couldn’t handle all the frizz and puffiness to the point I would have a breakdown while drying my hair and had to wash it the night before so it would calm down a little over the night so I didn’t look crazy when I left the house. Also, my hair is VERY thick. As if it wasn’t enough I live in a very humid place so it was really a nightmare for me. I got made fun of several times because my puffy hair made me look like “I got struck by lightning”. My mom has really straight hair so she never understood my struggles. I’m slowing regretting my decision of straightening it because I didn’t know that straight hair routine is not universal for every kind of hair, but I think it’s now slowly going back to its original form? I’m going to try this routine, wish me luck! 🥺

Hi, you don't need to do all this to tame that mane. I have often been called a lion for my hair lmao. What works for me is to switch to a different shampoo & conditioner, you can tell before the end of the bottle if it works. Another thing I did was a keratin treatment that you use like a hair mask in the shower, only need it once a week or so and it keeps everything smooth. I did eventually just switch shampoo and conditioner so don't need the keratin treatments anymore. I just let my hair airdry out of the shower, I don't need oils or leave-in conditioners. My hair is much thicker and curlier than the girl in the video. No hate to her or anything, I just can't possibly imagine doin this routine even one time. Another tip is I gradually went from washing it every other day to twice a week. Also, the hairdresser you have can be a culprit. I used to have bad hair days until I went to a little old lady who knows how to cut curly hair. Not flashy or expensive, she just knows her stuff. Hope these tips help.

This routine is not for everyone. Please look at more videos. With curly hair u have to use more products after this specially if it's frizzy. A product u could look into is "Frizz ease" or other serums like it. This hair is closer to straight than curly so frizziness will still be apparent after doing this

This is literally the same thing I’m going through, I always thought I had wavy hair since I was little. My family members dismissed the idea due to the fact that no one in the family has/had any kind of curls (as far as we know) so my whole life they told me I had straight hair even though I very much thought my hair was wavy. Fast forward a couple of years later (about 2-3 months from now) I remember waking up the next morning and my older sister (a hairstylist) asking if I curled my hair, I answer with “no” and asked “why?” She then said my hair may be curly/ had the potential to be curly. That is when I started noticing how wavy my hair looked (constantly). So now I’m trying to find methods/ hair care routines for wavy/curly hair.

I can’t speak for the water dunking method as I’ve never used it or seen it before, but I can say that curl hair and wavy hair are not the same thing. I’ve found that waves often need much more TLC, as their patter is almost more fragile in a way - by that I mean that it’s more prone to falling out and straightening with excessive touch, weight of products, not activating the pattern enough before drying, and other factors. Curls mean business and will let themselves be known without much assistance, I’m so jealous of that aspect!! Love my waves, but they can be finicky - that’s why I usually just wear it half straight 😂 ploppimg feels extra to me, but my waves yeet themselves straight without it

The difficult thing about looser curls is that, at least for me, you have to be fast from the moment you step out of the shower, as the weight of the water can cause your hair to dry straight. I have to style my hair everyday due to it flattening when my hair is pulled straight while being pressed down for a long duration (aka, sleeping on my pillow).

Get a silk scrunchie and pull your hair loosley on the top of your head and wrap it with a scarf or wear a bonnet 👍 that should help volume and keeping your curls in place

Yes I second the recommendation for wrapping your hair at night! I have a video showing what I do. It keeps my waves looking good for 3+ days :) And yes 100% about the water weight. As a curly girl, using the products and scrunching, etc can just help cut down on frizz. Some ppl also feel that their curls stay defined and last longer through the day/week instead of turning into a big puff ball lol. I used to do a whole routine and my curls looked so nice, but now I do nothing to my hair and really miss how nice my hair used to look with a product and a little bit of a scrunchy blow dry.

My son has natural curly hair all he does is shower normally and his curls get tight without any products the only time I have to use any products is in the morning when he has bed head but if he showers in the morning no product for the whole day . Y’all Oml STOP DOING THIS if you have natural waves or curls or whatever just wash your hair and use a towel to dry your hair then add cream NOT curl cream just cream and that’s it ruffle it a bit after y’all are doing to much when your hair isn’t actually wavy to make it look like it Ps:t-shirts aren’t necessary

Hi. I just wanted to let you know that you can't make your hair curly or wavy by using lots of products unless you naturally have the texture. We use lots of products to overcome heat damage, wrong care damage, frizz and dryness etc etc using some creams and plopping your hair won't magically give them a texture that they don't have. - sincerely a 3b curly head
@may292 Жыл бұрын
What? You cant change your hair texture with a cream or with a shirt. Sometimes hair has to be shaped to form the waves, or else it will look weird (but never straight). And her hair is wavy, not curly, these hair types arent the same.
@pmzaii8 ай бұрын
that’s not even curls and straight hair would not hold the product that well she would just end up with greasy hair in the end if her hair was straight

@malinia.2015 күн бұрын
You simply don't understand wavy hair. Do you not style your hair? People with waves and looser curls do have to use products and scrunch their hair. There's no way to make straight hair become wavy without deliberately styling that way with a wave iron, curling iron, or overnight heatless curls set

Even using the wrong brush or comb will change the hair texture when it’s wavy or curly. So in a way having wavy or curly hair is a lot of work when you don’t know what products to use.

If you have to do all that you’re forcing it
@kirbsmr39392 жыл бұрын
That’s not how textured hair works? I mean this with no disrespect but I have curly hair. I have all of my life. However, with texture, comes frizz. It’s called hair care. I’ve actually tried to do my curly routine on my friends with straight hair (multiple people) and nothing happened and their hair just stayed flat. It’s a common misconception that just because you take care of your curls it’s “forcing it.” It’s not. The point is to make them more defined but if she didn’t have waves then it wouldn’t work
@malinia.2015 күн бұрын
This is called hair care. The "bowl method" is over the top, but you can't force your hair into another texture through water or products or a shirt or anything. She has wavy hair. She's doing all this to define it, add moisture, etc.
