By creating a vacuum he increases the pressure which in turn decreases the temp at which the wax would boil. There weren't any bubble in it necessarily, he just boiled the wax.
@snipe96948 жыл бұрын
Kevin Braemer vacuum increases pressure??? No the opposite lowering the pressure lowers the boiling point
@kevinbraemer50568 жыл бұрын
Nicholas Hagan yes that is my bad. This only proves my point because I meant to say that he is removing the pressure which also decreases the boiling point so those bubbles were boiling not in the wax

*The bubbles are coming from the wax itself because it was cooking and not sucking the air out*. Let me explain this: The air pressure was lower because to the vacuum and if the air pressure is low then the wax will cook on a lower degree then it normally would. So i hope you understand me and helped you out :D (Sorry if the english is not correct ;) )
@Urfir3d8 жыл бұрын
So, when you are vacuuming the wax, I'm thinking you might not be drawing all those "bubbles" out, instead you pulled some bubbles out (at the beginning) and a lot of the rest was probably just the wax boiling since you are decreasing pressure inside the chamber. Just like room temperature water will boil under vacuum, and blood will boil in space. Thoughts?
@Meow-oz7dy8 жыл бұрын
Correct. A substance starts boiling when vapour pressure = atomspheric pressure. In this case the atomspheric pressure was reduced significantly due to the vacuum.

@Davegbuf8 жыл бұрын
Grant, here is a practical experiment to try with silicone. Make some comfortable silicone shoe insoles. Even your wife might love this experiment. Put on a pair of shoes that you wear often with your feet inside of some kind of plastic bag as if wearing socks; and a small layer of silicone in the bag. I suspect that when the silicone hardens, you should have a rubbery mold which fits perfectly in the shoe and provides custom support for every contour and arch unique to your feet. Wearing these custom shoe insoles may give you relief even after working for hours on your feet. You can trim the excess silicone pieces that are not needed (like vertical pieces between the toes) No need to remove air bubbles because these might actually be a benefit giving you more shock absorbing comfort. You might not want to press down to much on the silicone before hardening so that there is at least a reasonable layer in the areas that make the closest contact with the shoe. Otherwise, you will end up with some holes or very thin silicone in some areas of the final product. Finally. you might want to try the same experiment with proto putty to see which works best or makes the best final product.

@LogicalNiko8 жыл бұрын
Goyagma both would boil away in minutes. Of course if the pump is running it would purge both gasses easily. If it was sealed it would soon be filled with gas that would continue to increase in pressure untill at ambient temperatures.
@gabrielsustar67768 жыл бұрын
Liquid nitrogen actually freezes (It enters a triple point I think, correct me if I'm wrong) when put into a vacuum chamber.
@rodolforupp2928 жыл бұрын
liquid nitrogen would probably bump very strongly and damage the pump :P if it didn't, liquid nitrogen already boils at atmospheric pressure, so under reduced pressure it would boil faster. If the boiling reduced the temperature so much, that the remaining nitrogen froze, it might pass its triple point and solidify, but as ambient heat entered the vacuum chamber, the nitrogen would slowly to sublimate.
@ReloreMichaelH7 жыл бұрын
The Amazing 2 it would probably end up freezing because you'd be removing the air particles and since those are the highest energy particles removing them means it'd be able to freeze. if you don't believe me search up Jefferson lab liquid nitrogen in a vacuum.

can you put some fireworks powder into the wax pokeballs and make them into poke-bombs? it would be a great video also in slow motion!!
@WillemLawyer8 жыл бұрын
I think there may have been probably a little bit of air in the wax, but I believe the vast majority of that was the wax boiling in the vacuum since the pressure difference will allow it to do so at a lower temperature.
@jasonrios69908 жыл бұрын
he should try to make a clear silicon mold. like this if you think so too
@drew-hg3ko8 жыл бұрын
Jason Rios no. If he did anything to it it would probably break. I think you mean silicone. Not silicon
