what brand of rubber gasket do you use. also 4"dwv pipes does rubber work better than wax?

Have you ever caulked the edges of a bowl after installation? I’ve seen vids where some plumbers do it and others don’t

I typically do caulk the base of a toilet myself. But I know plumbers that don’t like it either.

yep.. if you lift the toilet for any reason. wax needs replaced.

Kenny I'm going to be buying your math course today at some point today as I start level 1 at Fanshawe college in 2 weeks . I had a question can I access it through a MacBook and also will this course help me with level 1 at Fanshawe ?

What is a toilet gasket supposed to help with?? Is it supposed to help with a cushion between the floor and the toilet? Thank you in advance for the help ☺️

It creates a seal between the toilet and the pipe below it that drains away the toilet water.

for the wax gasket, should the funnel horn in its inner ring be removed?

I can't see how a wax seal gives a good seal in anything but a case where the toilet bowl doesn't budge a micrometer, and how realistic is that? First time big Uncle Hershel sits on the can, I can almost guarantee there will be tiny angular offsets and displacements, and I can't see how the wax seal will remain air or water tight. At least materials with good elasticity will rebound and continue to conform to small angular and other offsets, when Hershel gets back off the can.
