I just discovered waxed jackets and I just happened to see one on the rack at a hardware store in Houston, Texas that carries fine men’s clothing and lots of really cool stuff. It was the Tom Beckbe Tensaw ES Jacket. I tried it on in the store and knew that I had to have it. I walked out of the store without purchasing it and it’s all I thought about for days. I ended up ordering it from the Tom Beckbe website and once it arrived, I put it on and never had any regrets about purchasing it. I love it and I highly recommend it!

You wear a size 38 in Taylor stich and was curious about your measurements and if you can layer up in that. You don't seem small in video.
@BeastMadeReviews4 жыл бұрын
Not exactly sure my measurements, but I always measure my best-fitting clothes and compare that with the measurements on the website. As for this Taylor Stitch jacket, for whatever reason, this one came out a little on the small side, so I probably wouldn't try to layer much with it. It's also pretty thin, so it's probably not great as a winter jacket anyway. But I would definitely recommend it as a fall/spring jacket!

I heard some waxed jackets might feel slightly sticky and might have some distinct smell. Would that go away over time? Also, what happens if you never re-wax the jacket? Would it just look and feel like any other regular jacket?
@BeastMadeReviews3 жыл бұрын
In my experience, waxed jackets aren't sticky. Maybe if someone waxed it themselves and added too much wax? The ones I have are not sticky, but they have a certain texture to them. Some waxed jackets do have a certain smell to them (which I like). Others don't. The Taylor Stitch and the Gustin ones in this video had that smell, while the other two did not. I am sure it probably will go away over time, but I wouldn't know by how much and over how long. In my experience, the wax they impregnate the fabric with is very durable, but it also permeates through the fabric too. I think over time the wax might flake off some (like indigo from denim does), and maybe after a few years of hard use you might need to add more wax to it. But it seems to hold on for a long time. Because it saturates the fabric, you'll never have the jacket "return to normal" really. But it might lose some of the top layer of wax after a time.

How tall are you and what size is your chest if you do not mind me asking? I am really considering getting a Iron and Resin jacket, but don't know if I am a small or medium. I see you sometimes flipping between small and medium sizes. Thanks!
@BeastMadeReviews4 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert! I'm 6'1", about 175 lbs. I'm not exactly sure how big my chest is (haven't measured it), but I usually wear a size 38 in suit jackets (and also in Taylor Stitch shirts). I think if you are in between sizes, the Iron & Resin jacket will probably fit pretty well. I have the medium in this video, and it's roomy in the chest, but just right at the waist and sleeves. If I cinch in the buttons, it fits perfectly at the waist, but is a little roomy otherwise. I wouldn't say it fits me the best, but I still think it looks and feels great. Probably my personal favorite. I hope that helps!

Hi @BeastMade Reviews , i recently got a size S and it feels very tight around the waste (like it tucks in shirts and i can't really wear a belt with it else the jacket just bumps against the belt). Else the jacket fits nicely if im only wearing a shirt, like everything else seems to fit, but i can't e.g: wear a hoodie underneath and close it, its just not possible. I tried it with a thin sweater which seems okay, but there's still the waste problem. I'm about 5'11 and my weight is around 164lbs, thin but sporty and wide shoulders. My question is should i exchange it with an M. On the video it does not look as horrible with the extra space, but i'm still not sure if i should do it since i'm overseas and not living in the U.S.A :/ ....any help appreciated in my decision of a possible exchange of the jacket.
