I recently acquired a vintage floor polishing machine. I've long been puzzled about just how to maintain my home's waxed wood floors. I never wanted to rent a buffer machine - it seemed so cumbersome. Then I discovered these home floor polishers - which you can still buy, new and used! I feel like caring for waxed wood floors is making so much more sense now. Cleaning, waxing, and shining them up really is pretty simple! Thank you for this link it's very informative watching this video so what do you recommend since SC Johnson wax is no longer made I see people are trying to sell it for like $150-,200 for a can which is outrageous but I guess that's the market

Yes it’s so unfortunate. I’ve heard good things about Trewax Clear Paste wax. There are a few other brands. I don’t know I haven’t tried them but…if you search clear paste wax you’ll find some

Do you have OAK floors with the narrower plank boards because I live in an old house and your floors look like mine? Be careful with old floors too they can have splinters.

I think these are oak - and yes, splinters are an occasional issue, but not on these, with our heart pine floors upstairs. We have a strict keep slippers or shoes on at all times policy around here for sure.

Does the wax dry so you don’t get footprints on it?

Yes, it dries to a cloudy haze after about 30 minutes, then you polish it to a shine!

Does floors unfortunately, have years of grime? You need to strip the old wax before you put any new wax app on the floor as he will still look patchy, I could see some spots in there that with the wax is not gonna be cover. You do need to removethe all grime. First before you relax your floors. Just saying
