Way-back Wednesday (Trigger Warning)

TRIGGER WARNING, as I know this topic is traumatic for a lot of people.
It's 9/11. A day to remember those we lost that day, and in the aftermath. For those who are old enough, where were you on September 11th, 2001? What were you doing? Let's talk about it.

Love my friend. I'm sure your parents were petrafied of getting on those planes back home. A few days before 9/11, we had a back to school parents meeting. They forgot to add a terrorist attack school plan. I read it and thought, "Like that would ever happen here." On 9/11 I was getting ready for work and had the TV muted, the banner said terrorist attack. I remember thinking thank God I live here, may the god help that country. Just at that moment, the 2nd plane hit, and I turned up the volume. This was OUR country. This was OUR home! I worked close to LAX at a major insurance company. I had appeals that were received late and needed to get them out for reviews. My former boss (I was now in a different department) was trying to reach his sister, who worked in the Pentagon. The fear in his voice. She was found safe. She was on another side of the building. It's so sad that parents today will never feel the safety in our kids' schools. That day, I felt school was the safest place for my son. Who would dare hurt kids at a school? It didn't matter that it was a private one. We also lived across from a public elementary schooly, and my friends thought the same thing.

@PincheBecky0Effsgiven Love you too! And yes, my in-laws were somewhat leery of getting on a plane so soon, but I think we were more nervous than they were. Lol Then again, they could see all the security precautions being taken while we couldn't. It's amazing to me how much our country was changed in less than 2 hours time. When I was in school, we didn't worry about things like school shootings and such. Now I worry about it every day that my daughter is at school. I seriously considered homeschooling her but she would be absolutely miserable without her friends.
