I saw a 12 and a six! I’m enjoying your journey. Wish I could be there to help! One small suggestion: on the inside of the door install a small landing, maybe only 2 ft deep and the full width of the door. The loss of interior space will be minimal but the safety and comfort of coming inside will be worth any loss of space, especially during rain.

After seeing the solar generator it hit me. Have you thought of powering your boat with an electric motor? Don't know how much power you could generate with your solar panels, but if it's enough, you'd always have power to some extent. You don't seem to travel that fast on the canal so the power drain would not be nearly what a "speed" boat would require. There are some neat electric boat motors out there.

12 & 6. We have one of these and it really is amazing . We did the Great Loop in the US and hooked up our solar panels and an extra freezer/fridge to it. It was really nice to have the extra USB ports to plug into. Would recommend this to any boater !
