Sang-e-Mah Maintains a record of atleast one twist per week. I stand corrected that Mastaan was not sentenced but voluntarily accepted Zarghuna's servitude as he realized he had inadvertently caused her to miscarry. Haji Marjaan keeps revealing new shades with his new conspiracy of killing Hilmand. This track is now completely on a Hamlet path, and Hilmand's monologue was somewhat, if not totally derived from "To Be or Not To Be". What blew my mind was the chemistry between Hilmand and Sheherzaad. So deep, impeccable and long lasting. We didn't get a feel before that Sheherzaad was an underconfident woman due to her past trauma of sexual abuse, except a slight hint where Hilmand asks her to print her own picture in the article, but it's being well-projected that Hilmand's words are making her stronger to face exploitation.

I think hasan has it wrong. What haji marjan said to his servant was to kill hilmand not sheherzad when the opportunity strikes. According to him, when sheherzad would keep on pressing him to ask for forgiveness, he would lose temper and the servant would kill him on the pretext that hilmand got out of control and he killed him to protect the girl. If he was supposed to kill sheherzad than why did he not?? He had the opportunity to but he did not so what hasan is saying doesn't make sense.

The most objectionable thing about ishq e laa this week was Azkas character. Why on earth would Yumna choose such a character? She has no feelings and is written as a very surface level character. There is no depth to Azka as she’s just selfish and emotionless in simple terms. Yeah she cried at her brother’s death and felt bad when Shanaya died but why is she so unbelievably numb? Regardless, the biggest issue I found was that the moment she begins going to med school she loses the chaddar and dupatta and begins to talk to boys. This is what we complain about when we talk about misrepresentation of Islam in international content. Whenever there’s a Muslim girl in a Netflix show, they always show her losing her hijab at some point as if it’s a moment of liberation for her. I remember watching some shows where they glorify a girl for taking off her hijab for her boyfriend as a symbol of empowerment. This isn’t any different. Instead of showing someone who remains true to her roots and continues to show modesty regardless of her current position, they have once again associated education with liberalism. We ALWAYS see this in dramas where the rich and powerful are never shown to be religious and the poor and helpless are. They were a bit unconventional with Shanaya but Azka fits the stereotype like usual. Super disappointed in the writing
@hercatalogue13232 жыл бұрын
True! The drama literally lacks depth and the content two of the powerhouse of performances aka sajal and yumna would sign. The hype about Amin Iqbal's direction feels lackluster!
@aziza0002 жыл бұрын
I never quite got the idea Azka is/was a very religious character though. She wore a simple duputta on her head more so as a cultural thing, hardly hijab now is it. Had they shown her very religious like Dua from AMEK at least and then changing as soon as she joined uni I would’ve agreed with you on that point but she’s not really shown to be religious or saying anything remotely religious like Dua who touched on the na mehram issue a bit, in fact in Ishq e Laa even Shanaya was shown more religious than her! Lol 😂 but I agree with everything else you said.
@mehreenmisbah95562 жыл бұрын
You're so right. Azka is such a shallow character. About the hijab bit, unfortunately in our 'liberal' circle, hijab is not considered a tenet of faith. As in piety has nothing to do with hijaab as far as liberals are concerned. As for Azka, she is not at all shown to be someone close to her Creator. Allah se bhi uski closeness isliye shuru hui kyunke usay medical university mein admission chahiye tha......she lacks depth......and i hate the way she is shown to be so masoom and the way her mother and bhabi go gaga over her as if she is a baby.....itna tou Aliha ko bhi baby nahin karte jitna Azka ko karte hain.....i am not a fan of that ex-fiance of hers but the way she so casually told him to bring his mother and then later on backed off was clearly unethical. There are so many things wrong with Azka. That guy in her class is also very annoying. 2 mulaqaton mein mohabbat hogayi.....so ridiculous! Can't believe someone like Yumna agreed to play that character.

@@sabazaidi9022 yes I agree and I liked that about this drama. They finally showed a religious yet rich girl who knows her faith. The issue I have with Azka losing her chaddar/dupatta is that it paints the picture that she was oppressed and uneducated before. It tells the viewers that now that she goes to college and learned about whatever she doesn’t need to cover up because she’s educated and “free”. It’s just like what I mentioned about a lot of Netflix shows. They always have to show the Muslim girl taking off her hijab or veil at some point as a form of liberation and that’s exactly what happened here.

Sang e mah: This was the most impactful episode which set the momentum of the drama as we now fully understand the characters and their back stories. Two scenes showing women empowerment and resolute, left lasting impression: a). Zarghuna riding a horse taking Mastaan Singh as a ghulam, although Haji Marjaan tried to save the son of his partner in crime. It seemed a scene from a parallel world, as we live in a world where no man can accept to be subservient to a woman. In our society even a rape victim is handed over to her rapist to be married to him for life long punishment. b). Shererzad coming out of the office and draping Hilmand’s shawl around herself, depicting exactly what and who she wanted. A girl molested by a close relative, facing workplace harassment is overwhelmed by the respect given to her by a stranger. Haji Marjaan’s camouflaged negativity, innocence of his wife Zasanga , the vengeance of Hilmand and Zarghuna, combined with past and present love stories would make this drama a very interesting watch in the coming episodes.

We take your duo as a reliable source of drama criticism but it is so disappointing to see that none of you actually pay attention to the plot details. Hassan bhai, your interpretation and understanding of the entire situation of Haji Marjan's plan to get rid of Hilmand is absolutely wrong. Haji Marjan's dad's brother was killed by a villager because he misbehaved with a foreigner woman, a mehmaan passing by their village. He instructs his right-hand man to take Sheherezad to Hilmand in order to ask him to apologise. The plan was that that Hilmand will get irritated and misbehave with Sheherezad, which will give haji's accomplice a reason to shoot Hilmand. Therefore, repeating the entire scenario all over again expecting Sheherezad to be a witness that he was killed because of his misbehaviour with a guest woman. The plan didn't work out obviously because Sheherezad was so awestruck that she didn't mention anything to Hilmand and there was no conflict. Ye thi ap ki story. Please program karnay se pehlay apni research ker liya kareyn. Your audience respects your opinion which puts a lot of responsibility on you guys. 🙏 shukriya

We always say that our dramas are not good, but the fact is that on and off we have good dramas; however, our drama critics are definitely not very good. First, they are the people who actually love Netflix stuff and watch these dramas just to make money through their channels. Second, their Urdu is not good, they don't even know the meaning of many words used in the dramas or the meaning of many drama's titles. Lastly, they don't do the research they MUST do before reviewing a drama. Hence, at most, they are just two drama viewers who have made a channel to share their views after watching a drama but in no way they can be considered a reliable source of drama criticism.

I don't know why our critics are always so reluctant to criticize an actor's performance and find it much easier to blame the writer. Let's be honest, Ishq-e-laa suffers on all counts. Not only is the writing unimpressive, the direction is mediocre and the performances lacklustre. Yumna is not performing half as well as she did in her previous 2 dramas nor as well as her other drama on air currently. For me her OTT expressions (acting), her weird reactions (direction) and silly dialogues (writing) all are the problem. I wish someone would just come.out and say that no, this time this actor didn't perform well, this time he/she wasn't as good as drama X, this time they could've been better. I'm sure a little apt criticism won't kill anyone or their egos.

Hasan Bhai balance, Haath hola rakhain tareef wich Same was done with Danyal in taana baana, Hasan Bhai said "he is a fantastic actor"...but Amna corrected that the role was easy going... But new roles and characters like captain Farrukh played by Mr Chatoor , yes is demading, challenging needed mature acting approach etc definetely needs hinest great praises 👍👍❤️

Ok so i think both of you got the Christian girl story wrong in Sang-e-Mah. I think Awal khan wanted to kill Hilmand as if he misbehaves with Shehrzad than Awal khan will save her. So basically Hilmand will be killed for misbehaving with the girl ,same as how the Grand Father of Haji was killed. Isi liay Awal khan ny jaky kaha k Hilmand ny to usko behn bna lia q k wo soch rhy thy Hilmand apny state of mind ki waja sy is journalist k sath kuch ulta seedha behave kryga.

Yes. Right. I saw the whole episode again because Hassan said he was about to kill Shehrzaad. But no he was sent to kill Hilmand. They asked Shehrzaad to pressurize hilmand for maafi. Jisko sun k ussay ghussa aata In the last episode he told Marjaan khan that maafi ka meem nikalne se phele uska gala ghont dunga agar maafi ka dobaara kaha to...

SeM: Finally they met, the moment that we've all been waiting for since their last encounter. And my goodness the wait was worth it, such beautifully shot & acted romantic scene. And Kubra Khan - what range of emotions she has displayed in that scene, my eyes were glued on her the whole time. "Kaampte jism pe koi chaadar daalne wala ho" final dialogue, followed by the OST - which further elevated our emotions!!! Pure brilliance in acting, writing and direction 👏👏👏

JBG: This episode has some very powerful moments...first, when shabnam curses rumi my goddd that scene was so impeccably done...the way she was cursing him and the way rumi reacted. Nadia Jameel and wahaj ali both nailed it, wahaj's expressions were outstanding I could actually feel his pain...no dialogues only expressions wahaj is mindblowing. That scene was bone chilling. 2. The meeting of Sonia and Captain farrukh. Their conversation was so impactful. Talha and Maya have amazing chemistry...I so want farrukh and sonia to end up together but I know it's not gonna happen. Haisam has given us a gem...JBG is a masterpiece is true sense. Direction, writing, cinematography and performances everything is top notch. Talha, Wahaj and Maya are outstanding.

i think watching jo bichad gaye's latest episode was so amazing because it made me realize that good writing is when you have two characters (like shabnam and rumi) who are on opposite sides of a conflict and both have caused each other pain but you understand and empathize with both of them and their pain. the acting this episode was just superb. that scene with rumi, shabnam and sonia was heartbreaking and beautiful and sonia and farrukh's conversation was so well written with such a nuanced back and forth. even anwar as a side character is so important. in the episode previous to the last one, when rumi wants to go out and smoke, he tells him to stay and smoke inside because atleast wo usski ki aankhon ke saamne toh rahay ga...when sonia asks rumi if he wants to eat and the look on his face. he's a husk of what he used to be. he's tired, starved and guilt has eaten away at him. with dramas like these it's like hazaron saal nargis apni benoori ko roti hai barri mushkil se hota hai deedawar paida.

Army officers wives are like that because they live in uncertainty between life n death . If not with them but with someone they know in that 10 , 20 ppl ,students or friends get martyrdom in training or some in field and that is true so they become sensitive to these situations . It’s not glorifying it’s reality

With Sinf e Ahan I feel it's nice to see them show Army officers wives converse the way they did, and in earlier episodes showing Shaista's father being congratulated by the neighbours as well as a few other scenes. I see it as them showing how it should be done rather than how it is which is what we normally see and often criticise.

AOA Aamna and Hassan. I am a retired Army officer's wife. Considering I didn't grow up in Pakistan and neither has my husband graduated from AM College, the environment was new to us both. Neither of us knew dependence on the so called 'household' staff provided. Ladies (ladywives) always have enough time to gossip, backbite and compete with each other's monetary background. Mostly those who chose to stay home instead of pursue any job or career. News travels faster than wildfire. Especially when there is a martyrdom. Only another Army officer will be brave enough to marry his widow. For all other officers, it is highly respected. For the character of Kiran I think, her feeling ashamed of the situation is unrealistic. Martyrdom is a huge honor, both in this life and the hereafter

Hassan is wrong about the reference , what haji marjan wanted was that shehrzad would provoke him to apologize to jirga and then hilmand would get rude or handsy with shehrzad and then haji marjaz man would shoot him and kubra would say infront of jjrga that yes he became rude with him and thats why he was shot. That is why there was so much emphasis on kubra to convince Hilmand to apologize, because hilmand made it very clear in the last episode that the idea of apologizing makes him angry. And thats why marjans gun man told him that he didn't get a chance to shoot him because hilmand didn't do anything instead he gave her his shawl.

Azka has to be the most irritating female lead we have rn. She is so so seflish. Usske aas paas log mar rahe hain aur usse kuch farak hi nahi padta kya?Nahi usse to sirf doctor hi banna hain. Chaahe uski puri family mar jaaye bas usse doctor banado she is happy. Shanaya mar gayi her reaction was so bland. She doesnt even realise till now that Shanaya died because she told her about the abduction. And what is with that irritating expression she has on her face 24/7? Why would Yumna take up such a selfish two dimensional character?
@SA-ui8if2 жыл бұрын
sang e mah: what i understood from haji marjans back story in this episode was that he wanted sher e zaat to insist on an apology from hilmand and since he won't give in hilmand would misbehave and thus giving agha a chance to shoot hilmand on the same pretext as haji marjans pardada was shot, also the person swearing on the cross was the female that was harrassed by the par dada, this kind of made more sense as than they would recreate the whole scenario of yesteryears with sherzad being there as a witness. I was'nt trying to correct your interpretation but this angle shows haji marjan as an even more evil person that he would malign his step son and than have him killed rather than getting a girl he barely knows killed.

Bad lightening affect a drama. Can't recall name but there was probably one of Fawad Khan's which a lot of us didn't watch bcz of bad lightening. You guys notice and discuss as well aestethic and natural beauty and cinematography whenever done well, like JO BICHAR GAYE that Talha's hidding behind tree scene with light. Or ishq e laa initial shots. Talking about SANG E MAA : I cried at Badam sing scene where he told how Asadullah used to say Bahi hai bhai mera. That was very well performed. . Need to appreciate this actor. .They also cleared why Hania doesn't detest Mastan singh. Apart from that of course that kubra's scenes with Atif and afterwards were quite strong and emotional. Her eyes also make you feel what she's going through. Haji ne shak me daal diya hai. Kafi grey character hai. Need to know if he actually loves Hikmat or not. And how did he marry Hikmat's mom. Want to know if Mastan (Omer Rana) himself said sari zindagi ka gulam ban jata ya did Zargona say it. Appreciating thay he took stand to get proper punishment and realized that he had murdered 2 lives.

Sang e Mah: A lot of people have already pointed out that Haji Marjaan had sent Awwal Khan to kill Hilmand on pretext of him trying to misbehave with Sheherzaad with that background story. Hassan, you misread the whole point there. Zargoona's connection with the trauma of her miscarriage and her husband's death so many years ago and that softer side of Badaam Gul when he converses with Gulmina was great. Finally the scene between Sheherzaad and Hilmand was truly magical. ❣❣

hassan completely misinterpreted haji marjan's plan 😬 in the beginning of the episode, haji marjan was thinking about what hilmand said to him "ab agar tum ya tumhre paltu ke zuban pe ye lafz (maafi) aya tou khuda ki qasam....blah blah blah At the same moment, awal khan arrives and tell him about shehrzad who wanted to meet hilmand. Haji marjan thought about getting rid of both of his sar dard i.e shehrzad & hilmand. He came up with this shrewd plan that if shehrzad asks hilmand to apologize infront of jirga, hilmand will get furious and he might misbehave with her too. It will give awal khan an opportunity to shoot hilmand on the pretext of saving the honour of a woman who is also their guest.
