Oh.. that lobster looks good~! Also thanks for giving the perspective of the NE on wheeling. Here in Alaska we can legally make our own trails on state land, mind you following certain guidelines from our DNR (department of natural resources). So it's a totally different perspective than there where one has to get permission to off road on private property.

I always get excited when I get notifications for your new videos! Keep up the great work! I do think, however, that you missed an educational opportunity by not explaining why straining in reverse always presents the possibility of gear damage; maybe a subject for a future video?
@stovlsuzuki4 жыл бұрын
Is it possible to upgrade your axles with stronger gears to make it the equivalent to a dana 60 or would you recommend changing out the axles all together? Just wondering cuz with an axle swap your kind of taking away part if the thing that makes a rubicon electronically
@wayalife4 жыл бұрын
No. Anyone who'll try to tell you otherwise is just stupid. The shafts and u-joints on a front UD60 are crazy bigger than a Dana 44. Also, the factory rear 44 shafts are semi-float and the UD60 are full float and if you've ever seen how much bigger and beefier the ring and pinon are, you'd know why there is no way you could "make" a 44 as strong as a 60. That being said, there's a LOT more to a Rubicon than just it's axles such as it's awesome 4:1 transfer case, electronic sway bar disconnect, way nicer interior, option to get a big NAV system, higher resale value and so much more! If you do it like we did and sell your factory axles while their new, you can get a really pretty penny for them too.

Lewis and Clark said the Indians used to ride without any shirt on. Just short skins for pants. Even in the winter in the Dakotas. They would unfurl their bison skins at night and cover themselves to sleep and then knock the snow off in the morning before they mounted back up. Beautiful country again.

The Skyjacker Gladiator is a prime example of why big horsepower and torque don’t always play nice in a Jeep. Where others don’t have the power, that one just blows through the tires on many an obstacle.

Hi Eddie, great footage as usual. One question, I sold my JL and bought a Gladiator in Canada. (The Gladiator is not for sale yet in Europe). I want to put a Sky Jacker 4.5” b 3” lift kit on it with 40” Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires. What gears do you recommend on the Dana 44 axels? 4.88 or 5.15...... or do you have another suggestion for lift kit, tires and gears? Hope you can give me advice! Best regards from The Netherlands. 🇳🇱❤️🇺🇸✌️👍🥇
@wayalife5 жыл бұрын
If you're planning on wheeling your Gladiator, your Dana 44 axles will not last long running 40" tires. 5.38 are what you be running with 40's but the pinion is really small and you will blow it out kind of like you see on Synergy's JL in this video and he was just running 37's. 5.13 or 4.88 will be a tiny bit stronger but your Jeep will feel like it has no power. What you should be considering is a set of Dana UD60 axles.
@guidok37625 жыл бұрын
Eddie, thanks for the quick answer and advice! Appreciate that very much!! Do you think the Sky Jacker is a good option? Best regards, Guido
