@ApexPredator_JKU For reals! I can watch JKU's crawling the Rubicon all day...😃 This video was kind of a reality check for me... the Rubicon is a bucket list trail for me, but having been on an overlanding kick lately, I'd forgotten how big the rocks are on this trail. My JKU is nowhere near prepared enough for this trail. I get that there are bypasses and easier routes, but I want to do theis stuff!!!

One of the scariest things driving in my life.... IceHouse road switchbacks off of Hwy 50. Came around a corner and there was a logging truck. Ploughed into the inside (cliffside) bank. Trailer flipped over. It had just happened... The dust was still settling. The driver was just climbing out of the truck cab....... There was a space still open left to drive by... We stopped and made sure the driver was OK... 30 seconds earlier. We would have been caught in the middle... My friend Rod Morales and I got through.. Up to Loon Lake and a campsite... Ice House Road was shut down for hours.... The rest of our group rolled in at 2AM, When the road was cleaned up,,,,

@wayalife2 жыл бұрын
As I mention in this video, we purposefully took on harder OPTIONAL obstacles along the trail. With your setup, you should be able to run the normal trail without too much trouble. That said, you should still go with at least one other rig as the trail is still tough enough to be a legitimate challenge.

Can a stock JL Unlimited Rubicon do the Rubicon trail without getting any trail damage?
@wayalife2 жыл бұрын
I suppose that depends on who's doing the driving, the year (trail changes every year), the lines you're taking, whether or not you stack rocks and who your spotter is. That said, I've seen it done but it takes a lot longer to do.

Hey Sir! So this is not on topic with this video ... but I got a Jeep question and I know you are all over it! So I just got a brand new 2022 3.6L Willy's Unlimited and I am super excited with it but I have a concern. The "under the hood" area is crazy hot after driving! It is so I hot I can't even pop the latch to lift the hood without burning my fingertips. And this under the hood area stays extremely hot for HOURS after I've shut off the Jeep. It actually makes my garage feel like an oven ... and that is saying a lot since we have been under 100+ degree heat indexes here. I have never had a vehicle do this before including my Jeep Cherokee and my Jeep Patriot. Is this normal for new Wranglers? Thanks in advance sir and keep doing whatcha are doing!

@wayalife2 жыл бұрын
You can totally run the Rubicon in a 2-door with 35's or even 33's. There's no need to take on the big rocks that you see in this video. The main route is a lot easier. Tough for sure but not as bad as this.
