i wouldnt say he was the best picker, many many times he doesnt even have his guitar plugged in, but thats not just him, my dad worked with many people from Nashville and they said whether their guitar was plugged in or not, they felt uncomfortable without it, but anyways, many times he is just strumming but you cant hear it.

Sorry for being that guy but Waylon's picking was quite simple actually. He played some rhythm sequences because he was a rhythm guitarist but in a unique way that they sounded like a solo. I like the sound of it and I love Waylon Jennings but it was not something difficult to play.

Ralph Mooney is just nuts here! The guy doesn't move, bib his head or nothin and yet he plays that steel like Lucifer! Unless I'm watching them, I can't tell where "Moon" starts and Waylon ends. They were like the Mick and Keith of country. A truly unsung pair.

@@monmixer Not sure if my comment even remotely applies to you. Step off a wall? Stepped off a few aspects in my life. At age 15, I "stepped" off 85 foot cliff into a quarry/water filled and the hang time was around 5 seconds.

I remember going to the show & seeing Waylon & other country artists for the first time. It was titled "Nashville Rebel". It was around 1966, I was 13 then. A few years back someone posted the full movie on YT,it was about 4 years ago. Watched it again for the first time since I originally seen it. What memories that brought back! So many in the movie that aren't with us anymore, & we've lost others since then. We sure do miss y'all!❤😔😥💔

I was at this Farm Aids concert 1985 was just like WoodStock all over again.I had the time of my life all the stars that came out to dedicate their time for such a great cause the Farmers it rained but we didnt care it is a memory I will never forget

Waylon was one great guitarist he was in concert back in 1983-84 in McAllen Texas. Waylon came out onstage he made that guitar sing made it make the whoop whoop whoop and then made it yodel. I was so glad I got to see him in concert with his gorgeous wife Jessi Colter. I miss Waylon but his music is forever playing here in Texas

I love how as Waylon got cleaner and cleaner his voice and playing just went into another gear. He was always great but by the early 80s the coke really did a number on him but you can't keep a good (and talented ) nan down. Just love this guy.

When you know that these people produced music from their hearts and souls, you just have to feel sorry for singers who just fit their talent to a formula from the formula folks. Waylon thumbed his nose at corporate Nashville, played the music he loved and became a legend. The best!

Waylon is not just a great singer but he can sure play that guitar with out even looking and that is amazing. I just love this guy, if Jessie wouldn`t have gotten to him first, I would have been racing to where he was playing and catch him eye.MAYBE you just never knew what the future in 1978 when your 18 yrs. old, but he was sure a hottie and all man and so handsome and sexy as hell.

Song by Rodney Crowell about being arrested in Houston over leash laws. Waylon deleted the verse referring to " Houston" and Wayside Drive" which is where several of my relatives lived. It's a great song, and Waylon did a great version of it.
