LIFE! In today's world it is getting so boring. it seems like many people want to look the same like clones...same wig hairstyle, same body shape, same everything! Likewise, people are willing to throw away their own personal style in their own private spaces to make their home decor all look the same! Wow! BORING!! Nothing worth seeing there. You see one, you see all. There is nothing like having your own sense of style and unique taste. It adds interest and great aesthetic appeal. Don't succumb to " peer pressure" and be forced to spend what you do not have and rake up high debts. It is ok to be you. Delve into your own creativity and expressions. Believe me it is quite fine to do so!

I just want to say a point my husband made, I'm in the middle of changing alot of the packaged stuff into glass and plastic nice containers I was going to put the tide pods in a glass jar but he suggested leaving it as is because although he agreed it would be nicer and our kids don't generally have access to it, they could at some point and now the child proof lock could have been a last wall of protection it's gone so if you have young kids in your home consider leaving medication, cleaners and laundry soaps in their original packaging for that reason

Clutter makes your home look busy. Also curtains , hang curtains closer to the ceiling. If possible, upgrade your curtain brackets as well. Matching pillows on living room sofa. If you buy a sofa from places like rooms to go or something like that, nothing wrong with it but it usually come with matching pillows. Buy some pillow inserts and get different sizes, colors, and patterns, a mix of pillows upgrade the room, also a centerpiece rug that’s too small for the space also make the room look cheap. There are so many ways to upgrade your space. My personal style is yet real and use color to add to the space. Add color in your accessories, pillows, artwork, etc. Yea those are my few tips to add but the video is great.

@martasanchez6372
@martasanchez6372 Жыл бұрын
@Lisa Schooler The neatest way to keep your books is by size and type (hard cover vs paperbacks). From that you go by color. Most bookshelves Ive seen avoid paperbacks though. I have mine tucked away in a bin since they damage easier than hard covers and keep the hardcovers only on the bookshelves. You can also declutter books by donating ones you've never considered to re read and are just pilling up dust in your storage spaces. Be careful when you purchase new books by ensuring to buy hardcovers only or get book sleeves and make them all match.

I'm going to be honest, some of the furniture you showed, like the cloth covered cardboard drawers, still look cheap. My advice, get the highest quality item item for you budget, and that might mean going to thrift stores or garage sales instead of buying cheapy mass produced furniture. Look for a really nice, solid piece that fits your style and budget and is high quality so it will last a while and hold resale value. You can apply this to soft furnishings as well. I like linen curtains and I have high ceilings so they can be expensive, but I looked on ebay for deals and got them for half off. I could have easily spent the same amount on polyester curtains but I got higher quality for my budget.

These, I think, also make a home look cheap (or at least uncomfortable and sometimes you don't even realize it til someone points it out): lighting that's too cold-colored (blue on the spectrum); a single overhead light in a room; painted-over light switches and outlets; painted surfaces that look bumpy from too many coats of paint or lack of sanding; scratched or gouged stair risers; dirty or outdated cabinet fixtures; upholstered furniture on a hard floor with no rug.

I have gone through phases of removing products from original packaging and putting them into cute and matching containers. My problem is that I miss out on referring to directions (especially with foods) and expiration dates and slowly have reverted back to busy, mismatched packaging. I appreciate your point about how packaging is designed to catch your eye, which becomes cluttered looking in your home - I just need to find a balance on saving info I may actually need from the packaging.

Definitely a fan of the Tide Pods being put into a glass jar but if you have small kids. Please find a glass jar that you can lock. Also you might want to have them in a high place. If you can't find a glass jar with a lock then put a lock on the closet door.

@@levelupgoddess9289 Ask the landlord of its ok to mount (and not hurt your security deposit), then all of they could do it for you or if they are on with you doing it. Offer the option of using 2 by 4 to bolt to the wall/ studs, then put the mount to it. If not, we've had a 65" at a point that we had mounted on a stand with shelves for things like game systems.

Love this! Everything you mentioned I already knew but still needed to hear it! I haven’t done a thing about these issues in my home…yet. My husband loves the vertical blinds 🙄 on our sliding door. I’m still trying to decide; should I ditch my husband, or ditch the blinds 😂. I’m kidding of course. I fully intend to let him grieve the loss of his beloved blinds. He will get over it. I’m actually waiting until my whole house is painted before changing out window blinds and putting art on my walls. But I am a freakin freak about hiding cords, and that is the one thing I would rather have to redo than tolerate for even a minute! Thanks for a great video!
