There was an alumni game Leafs vs Habs in my city with Lafleur as coach of the Habs.He signed every single autograph when people found out who the coach was behind the bench.Some of the Leaf players even skated over to shake his hand.A true legend

Lafleur was one of the best hockey players ever period! forgot comparisons to today's players, any of the games best, he had style, class, and made it look effortless, I'll be a NY Ranger fan for life-blue section of MSG, but watching hockey night in Canada w/Grandpa was priceless! Shutt, Robinson, c'mon doesn't get better than that! (maybe 1 time-The curse is over Rangers Win the Cup!)

I was very happy to see an original 6 team win the Cup! The Rangers are a classy organization! I just wish the Toronto Maple Leaf's could win the Stanley Cup! Here in Toronto there is a waiting list just to get on the list to buy season's tickets! A joke here in TO. is what comes 1st a Stanley cup or season's tickets! Enjoy the games!! Cheers Mark

Absolutely agree forget stats no helmets back when the game had soul.

Guy has a tricky defense. Not slamming around. He steered opponents off course , so they couldn't get a shot or a good handle.

Guy was the best in the world, the hole team was great with Ken Dryden in the net. He averaged 130 points a year, smoking cigarettes on the bench lol was as fast as the fastest guys today lol natural talent but also hard work, he used to sneak in the arena in Thurso as a kid by a hole he had made and practiced all night haha peace to all who comment from Canada, Québec.

Oh trust me, I’ve met plenty of Canadians who hated Gretzky, when you’re the best at what you do, you’ll be hated by the jealous even if you are classy, it’s inevitable.

Don Cherry hates so much French Canadians, I am surprised he restrained him self to downgrade Lafleur. The thing is that Lafleur has such an aura.
@Lexington17 жыл бұрын
What can he say to a 6 straight season 50+ goal scorer. Lafleur became the first player in NHL history to score at least 50 goals and 100 points in six consecutive seasons as a Hab. Lafleur was also the fastest player (at the time) to reach 1,000 points, doing so in only 720 games. That record has since been broken by Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and a few others. He won three Art Ross Trophies (1976, 1977, 1978), two Hart Memorial Trophies (1977, 1978), three Lester B. Pearson Awards (1976, 1977, 1978), and one Conn Smythe Trophy (1977). He was a member of the Canadian team in the 1976 and 1981 Canada Cup tournaments, winning the Cup in 1976, and was the recipient of the Lou Marsh Trophy in 1977. And won 5 stanley cups. What in the world could Don Cherry tell this man about hockey...
@wallwawing14817 жыл бұрын
lol ferme ta gueule et arrête de pleurer le cocu. tout ce que cherry a dit sur le Québec est vrai. ça veut pas dire qu'il déteste tous les québécois, les autistes comme toi qui pensent que tout est raciste, ça me fait rire

Cherry always had great respect for the Montreal teams of the 1970s. Cherry just speaks his mind--a rare quality today. He loved Don Marcotte and Jean Ratelle--both French-Canadians.

Gretzky was talking about f…g stupid dumbass reporters asking the dumbest questions,because they can’t think of anything intelligent or sincere…..it’s still the same nowadays…..arse McClean TRIES to be smart with his little corny quips thinking people like his dumbass …..he tries so hard to be the centre of attention….His stay is long overdue….he’s like butthead Bettman…..wants to be everywhere….wants so much control…shaking EVERY players hand at the drafts…..just sickening, both of them…..
