It might sound funny, but "How to win at darts." I mean it from the mental side because it is not always that easy to win difficult games and ofc, it doesn't have to happen every time.

For me counting is remembering the patterns. Once you repeat them you remember them. I started by learning the 2 dart finishes such as 89 (T19, D16) then you learn "If I hit T20 what 2 dart finish does that leave?" So 149 if I hit a T20 I already know the combo for 89. After that it's learning the counting tips to give you a best shot, for example going for 18s on 122 to still be able to a finish if you hit a single. It all comes with the more you play and the more you watch on TV and see the pros or even better local players do it

That's what I did learn the standard routes then create my own based on what doubles I prefer. If I'm on 61 instead of 25 I'll go treble 7 and tops. 71, treble 17 and double 10. Sometimes I'll go bull for 90 in tops but not often.

I would love to understand the ‘feels’ of the throw … I.e. does the arm move just a rainbow or does it move like a jab when throwing a dart etc

Instead of practicing by throwing endless darts at 20, play 121 with a checkout card until you can play it without one

Great video. Be good to see if there are any routines you can practice to improve your game, like in snooker you can do positional set ups to always finish on the correct side of the ball.

I always end up in the madhouse anyway so being a good counter makes no difference to me lol.

Good video for beginners. One thing to add, if you find out you have a favourite double, for example mine at the minute is 36, when going through the numbers find ways to leave that double that you go for every time. For example, you leave 76, you go 20, 20, 36 instead of what a bot or checkout card suggest which would be 20 then 16 for 40.

What's wrong with 60 double 8?
@-_Blitz_-5 ай бұрын
@@einfelder826220 20 36 gives one dart at double and doesn’t risk missing the treble in one visit, it’ll just be more common for you to hit that’s all

actually I want to ask this. Sometimes I play individual matches without stress and my hands are cold as ice. They start to get wet. I'm trying to solve it by using a hand towel. If I play with a grip set, it comes out of my hand and my target confused. Should I prefer a grip set like Ryan Searle or a less grip set? I am currently trying the Searle set. It does not bother me that it has a grips. It comes out of my hand without turning. For example, like rd rebel or harrows rival. I just gave an example, I would like to hear your suggestions.

One player i met at a local sports club would finish counting and announce my throws almost the second my third dart hit the board. I'm pretty sure he's autistic, but man was he quick! :D Made my feel like my brain was in a different city
@AlexVenthem5 ай бұрын
with practice you just can do that! I have like an automatic counter in my head that keeps track on what I'm on, and then when I've thrown all 3 I have to figure out what I've actually scored cos I only remember what I've got left
@einfelder82625 ай бұрын
When I'm scoring I have already tallied the first two darts before the third is thrown. Makes it easy and quick, and I'm not autistic or any other mental label.
@einfelder82625 ай бұрын
@@AlexVenthem It's the scorer's job to add your score, it's your job to know what you've got left. So don't worry about what you've actually scored (unless you have a numerically challenged scorer, like half the guys in my club :) )

Treble 14 = 39 does it 🤔🤔 don't listen to him just get a calculator
@zacbroxson12235 ай бұрын
That proves his point though because he's saying don't learn the actual maths just learn the segments and combos He knows 74 is T14 D16 and single 14 leaves 20 for tops He doesn't need to know that 14 x 3 = 42
