0:07 The difference between Wayne Mardle and Gary Anderson and Peter Wright? Anderson and Wright actually won majors. The only thing Mardle won was a “Knob of the Week” on several occasions on Justin Credible’s blog.

has he not also created a kind of darts school for teaching young talent how to improve their throw? He's the only one on sky who regularly provides insights into the technique of the players, clearly speaking from experience but also from his coaching...

Every person throws darts throws their own way , everyone is slight different some slow some fast and all different techniques and no one can show a guy how to throw a dart, its in you or not although anyone can play .
@Neutronity7 ай бұрын
@@fishingstevie8830 would you say the same about any other sport in the world ? I guess not and that’s what I always find weird about people playing dart, the almost religious belief there is no standard technique yet far more complicated sports illustrate the desperate need for it

I used to love watching Wayne play darts. Taylor was his nemesis otherwise I think things would have been very different for him. He definitely had a flawed throwing technique which meant that when he was under pressure more often than not he did not have the required accuracy to get him over the line at the critical moments. He is still a great character and I wish he'd tried to sort out his technique and continue for a few more years.

Wayne isn't a bad lad, he has his faults, but is a pretty decent commentator overall. Was an OK player at the height of his career, clearly he ran into the best far too often in the final... Taylor, and once he got past him he failed.
@philofthesouth60197 ай бұрын
For me, he was just part of that era within the early 2000s where you could get away with playing average darts. When he took his foot off the gas (besides his illness) he paid the price. That Kirk shepherd loss was the beginning of the end.

Very entertaining and appears to be a nice person? He could have been one of the best ever. However he was his own worse enemy by trying to practice what he preached. In regard to where a lot of his darts hit he should have called himself Hawaii 5 not 501. He like all top players never admitted the truth and ploughed on in ignorance, regardless. Loved his shed!

@mygtavideos39556 ай бұрын
His game went to crap. He always had too many bad visits to be consistently competitive with the best and as time went on he just threw more and more darts into the 5 segment. He also blew his best chance at a WDC in the semfinal against a nobody (to get to a final he probably would have won). He reminds me of James Wade in that regard, although at least Wade bottled his WDC chance against a proper player and has won plenty of other events. Wayne never won much of note, he was always the nearly guy. Shame as he was always fun to watch and seemed like a nice guy.
